Someone just confirmed that the game does not have any trading from one account to another (player to player). I guessed as much due to it being a PvP territory game, but had not seen it posted anywhere. Then it was confirmed a dev has actually said there is no trading. Good.

So I thought I would post it again and also point out to many players that this game might be nothing like the game they have in their mind, to be ready for anything and happy just to battle with mechs.

I've seen a lot of comments from players who have bought $120 legendary founders pack suggesting they have far higher expectation of what this game will offer than what is true. Some of you are setting yourself up for a fall without a doubt.

Talking about banks, trading, some golds today mentioned they can't wait to salvage players mechs. I also read a comment late last night from someone who expects to be able to walk around their entire mech bay, such a thing has never been said possible. It is assumed based on how RPGMMO work, like Star Trek Online or Star Wars: The Old Republic.

That all tells me this forum will be a riot in a month and it will be started by users with gold badges. I hope I'm wrong, but how can I be if so many players are spending money with big ideas of the game far from reality?

I want to walk my mechs around the forums. This is possible, right? I bought a founder's pack...

I haven't seen all this in the forums, but I believe it. I expect to have 4 extra mechs that make more money and the other things explicitly listed for my founder's pack. Other than that I expect what I've seen in the vary limited game play footage: a game where I can drive a mech and fight other people driving mechs.

I think that is my reason for posting right there. To suggest to people, to wipe their mind blank on this game and read what is fact. Some of the comments I'm talking about are from accounts with 2-3 posts and already with a gold badge. I would like to have faith that most people will still accept what they realise is the real thing.

However I think we can all agree, there will be a lot of players kicking off on launch. Discussing it now, may cool that down.

I don't see a lack of ability to trade as that big a deal, since you can get everything either by earning or buying outright, its not like a random pickup or something like you see in traditional MMORPGs. What you can get is exactly the same stuff everyone else can.

I agree. Someone is going to be disappointed no matter what. Let's just see how this goes. I gave PGI $120 for breathing life into this franchise not what's in the pack. This is one of MW's last chances...

I agree wiith GHQCommander when he says we're spending money without knowing what the actual game will be like.

And I do agree it would be AWESOME to be able to salvage enemy mechs at the battlefield. At least parts (armor plates, jump jets), weapons and ammo. Althouth it would definitely lead to people fighting over salvage LOL.
Also, having an HQ to hang around as a pilot (a walking avatar) like DCUO would be even more fun.

But as PirateNixon stated, just being able to pilot a Mech pays already for the experience.

Personally I loath player trading/selling of ingame items/currancy. It's opens the way for gold/item farmers which NEVER enhances the experiance.

As for expectation of what the game will be like, I've always viewed it as a similar setup to Tribes Ascend.

No offense to those with the wrong ideas, but I think anyone who plunks down $120 without doing adequate research has only themselves to blame. There's enough info out there that easily shows those ideas aren't gonna happen. Me I'm happy to blast enemy battlemechs something I've been waiting a long time to do,

Individually each thing is not a big deal, everything combined equals a totally different game from what many seem to have in mind though.

Trading is the one I thought would catch the attention of anyone who has not played a game like this. I've also been suggesting to players to try Battlestar Galactica Online and discover how simple a PvP territory game can be, but still be a lot of fun.

I agree :D

HQ thing I'm a huge fan of. I would be surprised if there is not a homeworld or home base of some sort but I would fully understand if such a thing did not exist at the same time.

I hope a lot of players attitudes are good enough to accept that the mech piloting and the battles are good enough for now. It's going to be GREAT with that alone.

A lot of wishful thinking and rumors have been flying around. I love all that I've seen so far and I have full faith in what Piranha Games will one day deliver, but some people are overhyping themselves by not basing what they think will be in the game on what has actually been confirmed so far.

That said, if anyone gets their jimmies rustled over not being able to walk around their mech garage... Yeah, I dunno what to say. That's the most superflous thing I can think of to add to this game.

Oddly enough, most of the things that seem to be suggested as things that would disappoint people by being absent are all things that weren't in previous MechWarrior games

I expect this is a FPS game with Mechs. I don't consider it a full blown MMO in any sense.

There are a lot of things that I would like to see this game evolve into. But, I also grew up with old BT TT box set where all you had was a Mech, a pilot name and 2 skills (gunnery and piloting). That game evolved overtime, just as I hope this one will. From what I've read and the videos I've seen this game follows the old adage Keep It Simple Stupid. They are giving us the bare essentials to be able to play our beloved Mechwarrior game. This does not mean they will stop there, but will keep adding to it. They are going to try to make a game that will live and breath, and overtime grow into something bigger.

The biggest goal right now is to prove to others in the gaming industry that Mechwarrior has a huge fan base and can make a nice profit without ******* off that same fanbase.
