Anyway, tried some 4x MG and LRM loadout, and thought about some SRM6 loadout, but havent yet.
Dont like raven brawling much, always end up getting legged(heck thats what i do to them when they pull that on me) but cant figure out how to put meaningful dmg output on it without going 4x mg and srm6. seen a couple mg/streak ones, they can be annoying but not particularily dangerous unless in another light in a position where JJ are needed to be on even standing.
Is there a loadout I am missing? I cant seem to figure a way to run twin ac2 cool enough or with enough ammo or speed to try it, but if someone figured that out too i am game. Guess I am just looking for ideas to try on this thing.

If you want to try it, I'd suggest saving the AC20 build for the RVN-4X so you don't have to remove ferro or dhs just to fit an AC20.

That really works to the Huginns advantage against legging.
I would think you either get too slow or have too little armor if you put in the bigger ballistic guns.
So far my best run was 627 damage with 2 kills and 5 assists before my ammo ran out, seeing my usually mediocre score with other mechs the Huginn seems to be pretty good.

The problem with running an AC20 light is that you get the same amount of alpha damage and DPS as 4ML.
As for making the Huginn effiecient, I haven't played it, but I imagine it would be difficult. Machine guns on their own don't do enough damage, which leaves your primary damage dealing duties to your missle hardpoints. With SRM hit detection the way it is, running SRM6s can be tricky.

Be nice to have a Energy slot but its doable after working through Oxide with only Missiles actually nice to have machineguns. Was rather amusing walking up to banshee and unloading on his weakened center knowing I would crit him out before hits weaponry reloaded.
Seems this mech is destined to have machine guns permanently, how light and how long single ton of ammo last silly not to use.
As for missile pod not sure what I will do with that SRMs tend to be way to flukey. Was in a point blank situation using SRM4's while rolling Oxide, came against a Disconnected Cata I literally pounded on him aimed center torso at end he had one messed up leg no arms head and center torso left... took forever. Not that LRM's are more reliable but they seem to be more useful for me. So probably go 2 LRM5's or 10's with the M.Gun's

That AC20 is FLD and much cooler.
And the Huginn can't mount even a single laser, so I not sure where you going with that.

I think his point was any other light mech would outperform an AC20 Raven quite handily. With that build, you've got a hard cap of 420 damage per round (minus consumables), and that's if you land every shot at optimal range.

sure its under armoured and slow, but just stay 50 meters behind that D-DC and you will reap the souls of the unfortunate.

However, if you can keep your head down and stay in good position among your friendly assaults and fire support, it is tremendous fun and quite deadly for its weight.
just spam till both guns jam then hide behind a friendly.

With the streaks and the slightly better armor you could at least defend yourself if a light mech slips through and targets you? And an XL Engine wouldn't matter that much if you are trying not to get hit in any case?

You could change to regular 5's and up the armour and speed:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...816b3921c817636
But that will significantly reduce the burst dps you can produce, part of the trick to this trollish-setup is to make the enemy loose his cool and go for you in the uac5 variant, then have your team mates tear him apart as he gets tunnel vision in your direction.
Again, it IS a situational build, have your buddies setup the situation you need and it shines.

Basically I hunt heavies or assaults. I maneuver my way behind enemy lines and I alpha them directly in the back, they usually won't notice you're there until the second salvo and for many heavies, that's much too late. When I say directly, I do mean that my mech is touching theirs from behind... This has worked much better than I expected and Jagermechs or cataphracts have become my primary targets and source of kills. Also, anyone with an unarmored area might as well have already lost it. The only problem is other light mechs, or light hunter mediums. Make every single salvo count, do not fire if it might not hit.
Edit:
I once ran an AC/5, 3 MG, setup. I ran it for fun but the thing seemed to function really well, maybe give it a try.

Now if you could get a big weapon on a xl280 and still have enough armor... *dreams*
3MG and 2 srm6 do enough alpha damage to scare a heavy/assault? I have to try that!

Scavenger spotters with NARC that come back in with the MGs once the LRM boats strip armor to get wounded targets dead. Or ASRM 10 + the MG's. One of the -silliest- ones I saw was the Hugapult.

Arguably one of the least expensive LRM 30 batteries, ever. Unlike the other Ravens, it even fires all 30 at once! Kids, don't try that with a Raven-3L.

If you do go with the 3 MG, 2 SRM6 setup, know that it's a low damage, high kill count mech. You only target softspots and open armor, open legs yield ammo explosions, and XL engines are asking for it. Fighting is always close up, and if you get caught, you better have an exit strategy. Don't fire the SRM's at all unless there is no chance to miss. Don't fight other lights unless it's to blast them at point blank in the CT.
