Is there some sort of betting in this game or something? I'm wondering if people throw games on purpose for some reason.

I literally just got out of a game on Crimson Straight and saw a fully armored, healthy Firestarter with 2 ERLLs basically lose a game for us. There was only a TDR and an STK, both with yellow/red CTs. All he had to do was cross the water to the island they were at and shoot both of them in the CT with his ERLLs. There were pretty much neutered and he could have tanked any damage they inflicted on him.

Instead, he took his sweet time, killed the TDR after much deliberation and somehow managed to avoid killing the STK with a cherry red torso when he could have just stood in front of it and shot it twice. He was ducking and weaving like they could have even hurt him and it cost us the game. Literally 5m from the Stalker and couldn't kill it. I'm talking one more shot to kill the Stalker.

Time ran out and we ended up with a tie that should have been a win...was embarrassed for everyone to have witnessed that as a whole. He had almost two whole minutes to do this and instead lost us the game. Then he called all of us "*#%&*#& noobs"...hilarious.

Sure sounds like the guy you were speaking with was on teamspeak. If you want - you can add me to prevent this from happening again.

Typical really. You sometimes get people that suck like a super mass black hole then turn around and blame others for their inability. Happens. Just ignore it.

I have no reason to believe that anybody throws matches because of bets and if they would have to be pretty private and isolated things which would be extremely difficult to coordinate due to the random nature of the MM.

I swear I don't throw games! I really do suck that bad. Lol. :-D Seriously, I don't see people throwing games as much as they seem to get into a zone and keep playing like it's the first few minutes of the game. Just today I was in a match where the enemy was taking down two guys who had been caught out of position. I typed in the grid location and started firing to suppress. A few minutes later I look up to realize I am alone (the two guys had bought the farm) and the ENTIRE rest of my team was 1000 m away "chasing the squirrel"... I had thrown away my mech (an assault) by getting too into the zone. :-(

The guy literally had to shoot the Stalker twice...he had no open spots in his armor and the Stalker was cored red with only 2 MLs left. The Stalker probably could have shot the Firestarter 5x or more without killing him. All he had to was stand still in front of the Stalker and shoot him straight in the nose from 5m away twice. The guy has been playing the game for over a year and a half...really no excuses, especially considering the fact that he was able to rack up 500+ damage in a Firestarter that game.

The guy wrote it in the chat after the game was over. I posted the pic with his name blocked out but a mod deleted the pic (as you can see above) due to his language.
