Dear PGI.
Hitbox plan of action, last updated December 2013. Will this be resumed any time soon?
I'm hoping the guy is back from vacation by now... it was said something would happen in January...but it's May...and we haven't heard anything.

Several mechs remain unaddressed. Some could still use serious to minor tweaking.

It would make sense that as you create hero mechs and/or update weapon customization visualization, that you would apply the hitbox overhaul at the same time (since it requires changing of hitboxes for many of them anyway to make the weapon pods work; at least this would be a logical assertion).

Please resume this soon, before you finalize the Clan weapon balancing as it'll be horrifically late (and detrimental to balance) if you do this after 'balancing' the Clans as it will lead to months (or giving the track record up to over a year) to actually see meaningful rebalancing.

They also didn't even properly do the mechs that were passed over. The Raven still has oversized "ghost" leg hitboxes, the Cicada is still a walking CT, etc.

If Paul's balance doesn't convert into money (aka clan mechs), then clearly it's working as intended.

Besides, essentially everything's been dropped in favor of getting the clan mechs done. That also meant no new maps (or at least finishing them).

So, take it for what that's worth.

In a delightful thread created recently, Cyner did some testing with screenshots to determine how big the Raven's leg hitboxes actually are; I went ahead and photoshopped the screenshots so that the leg accurately reflects the hitbox, and the mech winds up looking like a scaled-down Stalker instead of a light. Depending on the section of leg, the hitbox ranges from 130% larger to 145%. It's time to correct the Raven's legs back to what they should be.

So weird that we have ghost hitboxes on some mechs and on others i've watched shots miss between legs running 130kph or go right under an armpit.

What you really need is someone to perform an exorcism (although, at this rate we'll probably get a remake of the movie).

The main reason I stopped using my 3L raven as a brawler/scout/capper even after all the anti "lag raven tweaks/fixes" was because of the ghost legs and instant leggings even at speed. Now it has an LRM and protects the fatties with its magical 124kph speed because brawling/scouting/basecapping turned into a suicide run.

But strangely I still have a great time in my 85kph XL brawling Awesome 9m and XL dragon...

Ravens need a rework.
Awesomes need an ACTUAL rework.
I still think atlas isnt quite right, but it is better then it was.

I hope this is high on the to do list after the clan money grab by IGP is "done".

They updated the Cataphracts hitbox geometry (Much tankier now), but they never updated the weapon geometry

I was really considering giving PGI more money when they announced they'd do a hitbox adjustment pass. Hitboxes are a big deal.

They could revive a lot of under-utilized chassis simply with hitbox changes. You know how the Raven's legs have "ghost" hitboxes. They could give the Awesome's arms "ghost" hitboxes, even down to having massive ghost debris when the arms are destroyed, just like the Centurion. Suddenly the Awesome becomes much tankier than the Victor, giving it an advantage to make up for the lack of JJ mobility and the lack of cooler-running ballistic weapons.
