Ok I just found this out and I thought I would share... There is a workaround so that you can see what you are buying.
First go to the filter pull down in the Mechlab
2. select purchasable
and shop to your hearts content,
Oh and you might want to pin this so it does not get pushed down.

I think it's quite embarrassing that the actual in-game store refuses to show you info on the stuff it wants to make you buy, so that you have to use the Mechlab like you've shown...

To be honest I did even see that pull down until it was pointed out to me, it would have been nice it they had let us know about it.
