I would go with CJF, since I believe that a similar conversation went on between Aidan Pryde and the Comstar representative.

None that made warrior status that I can recall reading about, although I sure that many IS bondsmen tried. You could say that of Phelan Kell but he only returned to the IS to save the Warden faction of Clan Wolf and to protect the IS.
