I have been considering buying the Daishi (Dire Wolf) pack for $120 USD or just an A La Carta Daishi (Dire Wolf) by itself for $55 USD though I am having quite abit of trouble justifying the expense to myself considering the lack of content generation in the game.

Some of the primary reasons that I am having trouble justifying the expense are:

1.Lack of content existing and being produced for the game (maps, etc).
2.Unable to balance weapons and when an attempt is made it horribly misses the mark...
3.Game seems to be nothing but a slow enternal grind with no real end in sight.
4.The prices are a little on the ridiculously high side of things.
5.Will this game even be around in a years time/sustainable with how things are going?

I am sure there are other reasons but I'm sleepy :)

Well, grinding even just a single Clan chassis will break your spacebucks account if we go by TT costs...

I.e. each Black Hawk costs somewhere in the 10,600,000-11,600,000 C-Bill range (you need 3 variants). The Mad Cat Prime by itself is just over 24,000,000 (and you still need 2 more variants to master).

So, I guess one motivation could be that you want to experience the new playstyle of Clan mechs (hardlocked "base" chassis, swappable Omnipods, new weapons) without grinding C-Bills forever just to get a few variants. Other than that, there's not much.

well i guess there are only 2 mechs i actually use, and only one of them on a regular basis so that helps.

2. Hit Reg fixes in the woodwork, especially going to affect SRMs.
3. We're a F2P online multiplayer, there is never supposed to be "an end" :)
4. Feel free to specify, (and the same goes for Balance) which prices seem too high.
5. Our license has been extended up to mid-2020, so we hope to have at least 6 years of fun, if not more if this license extends once more.

That guy still owes me 1 million c-bills for taking down your catapult :)

Judging by your response either you misunderstood 2 or I did , hit reg is a issue but I believe he was referring to weapon balance . Otherwise sounds great but without weapon and matchmaking balance you have no game , food for thought.

They have photographs, certain photographs of you that if they ever were revealed to the public, would be damaging. Very damaging. Isn't avoiding that damage worth a nice 500 dollar Khan pack or two?

at this point of the game 24mil spacebucks is pocket change unless you are a new player or like to waste cbills for no reason other than to spend them.

View PostFupDup, on 14 May 2014 - 02:14 PM, said:

But average people who only play the game in "spurts" every few weeks, who try to buy more chassis over time, probably can't pull ~72,000,000 spacebucks (you need 3 variants to master) out of their butthoIe on the spot.

PS: I only have just over 40,000,000 right now...which is just enough to grind out a single Clan medium. Space poor 4 lyfe.

I have about a million in C-bills right now. I generally only get two to three games in a day tops, and a losing streak means that I make jack squat for a couple days.

But I've been playing for two years - where did that money go? Well, all of those Phoenix mechs require DHS, and a lot of them need XLs...

What's the endgame for most online shooters? Become better? Unlock all content(grind)?

What was the endgame and gameplay for MW4's online multiplayer for that matter?

How about Counter Strike where you spend the totality of the game buying an AK47, an M4 or an AWP over and over again. 75 percent of the primary weapons in those games were second and third tier.

You all seem to be under the collective delusion that we are playing something other than a Multiplayer FPS.

i payed like 20 bucks for CS:GO...that´s enough for a game of that type... which btw offers way more maps, interesting gamemodes (even if not played much, but that´s another story) and does NOT base upon a fully developed universe with a background that couldn´t be richer...

if i pay 60 bucks, twice (which i did) i think it´s only fair if i get more than a lobby shooter out of it, imho... since i don´t, it´s not hard resisting to spend even more ridiculous ammounts

If it helps anyone, the rule I use to make game purchases (full retail, F2P and everything in between) is will I/did I get, at minimum, 1 hour of satisfying gameplay per $1 spent.

I have far exceed this for MWO.

That said, I haven't gotten into the Clans yet because I learned my lesson with Phoenix. I have two medallions in my inventory right now that are supposed to gain extra Loyalty Points, but I have no idea what that means. I need far more info on the Clans than we currently have to make an informed decision.

Iv set aside a portion of a paycheck for the $55 ala carte purchase months in advance (as I REALLY detest BUYING things months in advance, my money is gone and im not enjoying myself? SHINANIGANS!) just waiting for the last second to invest.

That being said, iv always though the hero mechs were incredibly overpriced, and still a bitter pill when the half off sales came around, hero mechs and 'pack mechs' are further hampered by the inability to use other camos, this annoys me to no end as in many cases the premium camos are substantially better than the hero/pack camos. Quite frankly if it wasnt for the cbill boost I dont know how many people would bother investing in them, Id rather buy a hero 'upgrade' for one of my variants as opposed to being stuck with the stock camo.

Seriously, my Protector suffers while my GRN-3M looks fantastic. ;.;

Spoiler

Now whatever clan mech I get, i'll end up using the non-bonus version most of the time when not grinding cash.

you want to buy something that costs about $500 i strongly suggest you get this instead, it has ACTUAL value,

https://store.nwtmin...Leaf_1_4_Ounce/

THAT will always had actual value and its real which means you can hold it, and play with it and do whatever you want with it.

You got me excited when I saw "leaf" and "ounce" in the url. I was expecting some sort of expensive product from Holland.

commendable attempt but here's the real questions that have stopped me going any further than a kitfox for clan loyalty sake...

economy - how are clanners being handled? will they only be c-bills and according to sarna you could be spending 3 times more building up your three mechs, the chassis price and refit prices will mean tons more grinding, if we've had nutters shouting P2W via equipment aquisition before {evil meta heros QQ} then just wait if there's some good clan combos that won't be accessable to freash players for many man many months. really there should be an extention in the trial que 4 IS 4 clans and playing a clan mech gives you "honour points" which is a comparable economy unit to the C-bill for IS stuffs. so the grind isn't extended to a ludicrous stretch.

pack features such as bonus modules, medallions, and warhorn have had little to no info revealed even though they're a month away from launch! we also haven't had weapon demonstrations for testing purposes or info about the varient loadouts for those unfammiliar with the mechs. when you buy a pack you get more than a prime so why haven't the vairent informations released?

unlike Phoenix clans are seperate factions for these mechs... where are the avatars and which one's will be available? clan mechs are not IS trophies when we haven't had a go at the clan warfare yet so why is there so little concern or attention from pgi about what faction players get out of this? does it have anything to do with CW being but a carrot idea on a stick at all?

untill there's information regarding these aspects i have no reason to purchase these packs and i haven't even mention the whole game itself is in a forever underconstruction demo state and these packs are like paying for 2 complete full priced games!

The OP was referring to both.
Niko only commented on hit registration (balancing isn't his job, it's Paul's.)

Niko wouldn't have the answers to those questions (nor the authority to answer them to avoid mistakes Garth made in the past).

Those are imperative questions to be answered, I'd like to see something along those lines put out there soon.

Because we won't get CW, ever. Mark my words. EVER!

$10 per mech is a pretty damn good deal, not to mention all the premium time you could have accumulated by purchasing when it first came up. Still though, 90 days or whatever it is for the max package, on top of 8 "hero" mechs is a damn good deal...

My only issue, and the only reason I'm holding my purchase back a bit is the lack of good info on the implementation...

I think the recent slowdown in new maps is a noteworthy complaint. It's the only thing that makes the game interesting : /
