Just wanted to share a story/tactic for your next match-
I was pugging around in a dual gauss Jaegar on Canyon Network last match and made a pretty good account for myself right up until I ran out of ammo. Having eschewed backup lasers for moar ammo I was left with few options. Fortunately, my team had fought valiantly and there was but a lone Atlas left making a last stand among his turrets.
Feeling oddly liberated from the yoke of K/D and damage and match score and all that malarky, I focused on what I could do to best support the team. I figured I'd get him trapped in a corner, have him focus me, or just scare him. I closed to melee range to give him a hug and a few seconds later down he goes in a blaze of glory.
What I hadn't counted on was that tiny bit of melee damage had gotten me another assist and more C-bills to spend on a shiny new Stormcrow!
Too Loquacious; Didn't Read - Just because you've no weapons doesn't mean you can't do damage and make money doin' it.
Thanks and see you on the battlefield!

I always ram when my weps are all down or I'm out of ammo. I too once got a kill by ramming, and it made me an instant convert! That's why I just annoys the crap outta me when someone who's out of ammo/weps just runs and hides while the last of their teammates die. There is ALWAYS a way to contribute. Also fun is just holding some enemy mech up against a wall so they can't move.

Explain to me the concept of ramming; I've tried it but it doesn't seem to do any damage.

Currently damage can result from mech-to-mech contact. True ramming and death-from-above do not exist as in the table top game.
I would call the current version "rubbing." If you continously walk your mech into another some damage will result, typically in the legs although if you were above on a hill you could possibly damage another part of their mech. Your best chance for a kill is against a mech with heavy damage to the legs.
Sadly it occurs more frequently when teammates box you in than against enemies, and damage is very low (like a slow machine gun).

Also, you need to be running at max speed for better chances of damaging them. Or have JJs, since landing on top of them will start causing damage to them and to you.
