Since 1997, NetBattleTech has provided gaming enthusiasts with an exemplary gaming environment, a dedicated Admin staff and solid competition for all who join our community. Through the course of six successful NBT leagues we have worked with units and pilots alike in the continued evolution of NBT.

NBT Leagues are real-time planetary / resource campaigns that make use of any Mechwarrior game engine, based upon certain timelines of the BattleTech universe. What does this mean for commanders and units who participate? Your unit takes the role of one of the many factions in an interstellar battle for supremacy, star systems and resources. Your goal? To prove yourself as the top unit in the league, be it by conquering systems, raking in cold hard cash, or stealing the resources of other units.

The role you play depends on your unit’s desires: one of the almighty Houses, controlling hundreds of systems and striving to win your place as First Lord of the Star League; a Periphery nation, smaller by far, but motivated to prove one's worth, pitting the Houses against one another to gain the upper hand; perhaps master the Inner Sphere as one of Kerensky's Clans, using superior technology and ideals; fight as a fearless Mercenary Corporation, out only for the almighty c-bill, selling their services to the highest bidder, working to outshine the competition for a bigger payday.; the lowest of the low, the Pirates -- feeding off of the misery of others, picking at the edges of civilization to ensure their own survival in a dog eat dog universe. These are the players. These are the champions, from nobles down to the scoundrels. This is the universe we create and evolve by our actions, be they role-play or combat operations battling your way across the universe.

While the league provides the backdrop for the community, what draws people together is the game you play in it. Each of the different games has been worked into the leagues to provide a variety of play in an ever changing environment. Your unit will fight in a variety of conditions, maps and play styles, depending on the battles launched against and by your enemies; for example, a quick recon battle to steal enemy information while the defenders try to drive you off as quickly as possible. At the other end of the scale is the grand planetary assault, with the planetary defenders making their stand against enemy forces while the attackers struggle for victory on a key planet. Leading a raid deep behind enemy lines to secure factory resources, holding the military assets to ensure your economic survival. These are the battles that are fought. These are the stakes.

With so many years of great gameplay using our system, it has began to show it's age. The years have left our dedicated staff smaller, making any new campaigns (such as the one planned for Mechwarrior Online) an almost impossible task.

Rather than throw in the towel, NBT knows that what made it strong all these years is the dedicated units and players that made up our membership -- units who strive for excellence, for enjoyment of the game, for community. Just as they have supported us, NBT supports them in whatever Mechwarrior game they continue to play.

With this in mind, the NBT team has decided to update everything about NetBattleTech, in order to facilitate a top-notch experience for this iteration of NBT, as well as provide a platform on which future expansion and evolution can more efficiently be achieved. This will not be a easy nor a speedy task. It will also require new experienced staff members who are knowledgeable in modern web technologies and a love for the Battletech universe and the community that plays in it.

After this evolution, we see NBT hosting it's newest campaign using Mechwarrior Online. NBT-MWO will have more updates and news posted in time however, as the focus of the staff is to make sure we can offer the community what is needed and nothing less.

If you are interested in what NBT's needs are, you can see our current job postings here. If you wish to learn more information on NBT, as well as interact with our staff, please visit our official website.

Is a stock mode community warfare being built with this or will it be possible to?

It's possible, though with nothing in game (right now) to enforce stock only, in addition to the limited amount of units that would be willing to do this is small (again at this time). I don't forsee this happening.

However because there is a fair amount of time before the we are able to run a NBT campaign (we are redoing everything on the backend after all) it's possible opinions could change (and many other things) by time we get going fully

RJF (NBT-HC CFM/CJF) is here, ready to join project as it goes. NBT-HC was one of the best leagues i can remember. Would be great to see something like it based on MWO.

All the best with the resurrection of the best Mechwarrior planetary league. Had a blast back in NBTM and NBT-HC.

I have just re installed MWO last week, decided to browse around the forum to see what has been happening in MWO. This is great news. About time NBT! :)

Sorry it seems updates have been missing on this thread for a long while. We are going to be soon announcing unit sign ups for a 'Alpha' Campaign. More about that soon!

Greetings Mechwarriors!

We have heard your cries, pleas, and cheers for an NBT campaign to happen...even if just a basic version of our unique system. It is because of this the NBT team have decided to craft an ‘Alpha’ NBT campaign.

The team has retrofitted MWOs selection of 'mechs and maps into the old system so that a campaign can be given. Some items have been updated, however the new automation we have hoped to give you in not in this version. Because we are using an older code base, there likely will be some bugs; the team will assist with what they can to the extent that is reasonable (development effort will be focused primarily on implementing a new automation codebase alongside the existing one).

Since this is an ‘Alpha’, deficiencies or imbalances in the ruleset/campaign may become apparent at any time. If changes are minor and will not materially impact any team’s existing economy or force composition, they will be made in place; otherwise, discussion with the community may reveal a need to reset in order for changes to occur. We ask for your patience and understanding when issues arise; our goal is to give you the best campaign we can with the limited resources we have.

With all of that said, signing up your unit for a certain region does not guarantee ownership. We (as was done in the past) look at each of the requests of the units applying and the NBT admin will have final say. It is not first-come-first-serve, and the determination will be best fit for the faction's role and expected level of activity in the league.

Sign-ups will last for about 2 weeks, with the Aug 24th being the last day. On August 28th we will have the final result of the sign-ups with a campaign meeting that day to discuss details (the time and place is to be determined).

You can find the faction request page here: http://mwo.netbattletech.com/ under the unit application tab

At this time in the alpha we are using the older presentation until we have other more important things fixed. If you have any issues or questions please post them in our forums found here: http://www.nbt-mwo.com/forum/
