Solid, point damage is one thing. Lasers are however, TERRIBLE versus jumping targets. Especially the VIctor mechs. I have noticed a couple times already when shooting at the AC 20 arm of a jumping victor WITH LASERS little to no damage.

I do have to agree. I am pretty decent with my aim, and when a mech with a VERY red torso decides to jump, and I am watching my beam nail that torso, it tends to hit his leg on the paper doll

Lasers wreak havoc on the legs of my jumping mechs. No matter where they aim, though since I'm one of the minority representing lights/mediums these days that might just be because pilots are conditioned to only shoot at the legs of lights in general. Sometimes I wonder if I could leave the armor on a spider as low as it can go on all parts except the legs if I would die any faster lol.
Several times I have been shot while jumping and terrain has shielded my legs but yet my legs take the damage. While Victors might love this "jump shield" glitch (I hope it is a glitch) I know this light/medium player does not. Spiders have precious little leg armor (28 IIRC) and if I could spread that damage out to my torso, ie: where the lasers actually hit, I'd appreciate it.

I've noticed this a lot, not just recently. It seems like there's some sort of desync between hitboxes and the visible models.
I've seen plenty of my gauss slugs bounce harmlessly off of a flying mech's legs. I haven't seen too many issues with lasers, but that might be because SRMs are my go-to backup weapons.
I can't help but feel a bit evil when I hear an AC/20 slug detonate on my Jenner's leg, but see nothing change on my HUD. This is why I spend more time flying than running when in combat.
