Loaded Mw4 And Mw4 Mercs Back Up But Having Issues

I loaded MW4 and MW4Mercs up and am having issues with the terrain being junk. Someone told me I needed to download something to make it run stable. Only reason I loaded it back up was because I wanted to experience a campaign mode again and try to see if my piloting skill has improved.
Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix it?

Are you bothered by the more than a decade old heightmap based terrain, or is there an actual bug?

If you're having texture issues, try installing the HD texture pack from MechStorm

I discovered MW4 doesn't like my 64-bit Windows 7 computer when it's running full screen. Try alt-enter to enter windowed mode. I've managed to get it working on several Windows 7 computers like this.
I don't know why, when it runs on fullscreen it runs with a shocking resolution and doesn't render anything 3D properly. I'm guessing it doesn't like my graphics driver.

How are you getting 3D acceleration for MW3 in a Win98 virtual machine?

Now I have a GTX 650ti and it still looks about the same.

That'd be Mechwarrior 2 and Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries. Both have superior campaigns to anything Mechwarrior 4.

You could use dgvoodoo or something similar to emulate glide.

There is NO WAY i can make those games work anymore without the annoying Mouse acceleration that makes the crosshair move a TINY bit when moving the mouse slow, and go bananas when you move it fast.
No trick in the book worked for me.

Theres a config file in the game directory. Run it again and make sure you select your graphics card in the lists. Makes a tremendous difference.
Last week I grabbed the last mektek package. If you can get your hands on that, thats the best experience going for replaying some MW4. It's no longer hosted on the mektek site. But there are a couple sites out there where fans have linked it. Google had me onto it in a couple searches.
