[Threat Doc]

Good afternoon, fellow MechWarrior's,

I've reported the following problem to the support folks, and they've told me I'm literally the only person with this problem; I would like to know if that's the truth?

In some games I can hit T, Y, or U and get to typing just fine. In other games, I can't type anything at all. This is completely random and I don't know from game-to-game when I'll be able to type, and when I won't. Support have told me to delete my USER folder, which I have done on several occasions to support the continuing functionality of my download, but this time it's not fixed the problem. Oh, and I've run the repair tool so much that I've literally wasted a full man-week on doing just that.

Does anyone else have this issue? If so, please report it to support@mwomercs.com so it might get resolved?

ha! i had this once.
but only once when i was dead and wanted to give others hint about lance under ecm flanking them but couldnt.
it was right after last week patch so i thought its a patch issue to block people from qq'uing after they die.
but few games later when i died and tried again it was working without problems.
i didnt do anything. i could type in every other game without experiencing it.
so you are not the only one.

Thank you. I'm going to try one or two things tonight, when I get on to play, but I honestly don't think it's me, or the load I have on my machine.

Nope you are not the only person, I get this randomly. It has decreased recently, now affecting about 1/15 matches (at one point was about 1/3). Still very frustrating since I never, ever go a match without calling some target and greeting people. If I'm silent, it's because of a bug. I have noticed it occurs when I 'load late' - usually the first 30 second of the match I can see my allies teleporting away from me (kinda like fast-forward) and then the match returns to normal, but I can never type. Or if I skip the ready screen, and go straight to mech already started-up in match; same deal, no chat allowed.

I've never thought of it, but now that you mention those things, that's been happening to me more and more, lately, as well. If I'm one of the last to connect to a match, and I don't get the ready screen, or I don't get the start up sequence, I tend to not be able to type. Usually, however, in the past if I've been that late to get into a match, I'll end up DC'ing about two or three minutes into it. Not cool. Four nights ago, I was in a match where we were up by four chassis', and I DC'd. The friends I was dropping with told me had I not DC'd -and this was NOT my fault, nor that of my computer, which was running just fine at the time- we would have won that match. Even being up by four chassis' we lost because I DC'd. However, the client has been more stable for me, almost like it was for me in Closed Beta, than before a few patches ago.

So, we trade functionality for stability.

If this happens to you, again, will you please take a few minutes, note your game-time and time-zone, the map, get your Omicron.log and DxDiag saved to text, and send all of that to support, please? If we don't start getting in these tickets, bad things like this will continue to happen. Thank you.

There is (or used to be) at least one known issue with ingame chat. If you died with the chat window open, you had to hit enter to send whatever you were typing before you could make the window appear again. But that's solved by just pressing enter so it's likely not the same thing.
