why are there extra cockpit support structures on this mech? why do they glow white while using heat vision? if they are nothing more than decorative can we please remove them as it is hard enough to see out the locust's cockpit?

p.s. can we also fix the leg damage it gets from even saddling up in it, honestly every time it falls 2 feet you loose 1% of your leg armor, some maps, just running to the battle is detrimental to your health, lets get on that....ok?

You just answered the question you asked in your other topic. You're getting one-shot killed because you're in a Locust.

Those cockpit support structures are to make us feel special for having a Lolcust we can't sell or paint in a decent camo.

The extra cockpit support structures are there to assist salvage crews picking up the crushed carcass and tossing it in the recycler.

i love you a$$ clowns, it was my firestarters getting one shotted and we all know that that doesn't happen 8 games in a row to that mech, so stick that in your dap cap and smoke it!

All the P special variants have special geometry. Why is the Locusts's on it's cockpit? Because that's where the artist put it, I suppose. At least they didn't put bike racks on all the cockpits.

The excess glow is an issue for the patch feedback section, and removing the bars entirely is more of a feature suggestion kind of topic.

The Locust cockpit is one of the worst. I end up zooming in all the time just so that I can feel like I have a bigger field of view.

It's a geometrical 'extra', but I agree it's intrusive. They glow because evidently they get hot. Then again maybe it's because they're cold, because snow is cold yet still white and cold mechs get brighter....who knows. But thermal vision has issues. It really does. Trouble there is they are busy making the launch module and 3/3/3/3 work so everything else is back burner.

If you think it's hard, try driving like this. o.O;

Leg damage issues, here's some tips. To avoid damage from downhill slopes: Slow down when going down hills. You're getting damage because of how you're twisting your ankles. (Originally you could 'trip' in late closed beta if you went in excess of 129 kph and went over certain kinds of rocks/pebbles; the same ones that 'stop' mechs now). You used to get damage after open beta by running too fast on the those locations. Though mostly removed, it was a 'realism' factor that says you are moving too fast.

To avoid damage from falls: On long falls, "STOP" mid-air to brace your legs, so long as your fall is under 30 meters you'll completely escape any damage at all.

Ever tried running in mid-air without bracing your legs for the landing? It hurts like heck. Even in the movies they end up doing a tumble.
Brace your legs by 'stopping' mid air and then try running when you land.

5 minutes, 15 seconds in.

I start going downhill.
I'm going too fast and start taking up major damage. Then I slow down and go through much worse without any damage at all.

The bars glow because they are considered to be on the outside of the mech, not part of the cockpit. I agree, it should be changed.
