Where did I compare mechwarrior to another game?
Not getting whatever point you're trying to make.

My point is it's a game that many people care about because they are BT fans, and you wonder why you get emotional replies.

Not every player in this game is at a "high" level.
I play in pugs, and I would think a good chunk of the players also play in pugs.
And in pugs, missiles are great when used effectively against a disorganized team.

I made this post from a pug standpoint, not some high end league play.

I only PUG and i'm certainly not high ELO, and i disagree with you.

Still whining about LRMs?

Just Uninstall.
Because you're so terrible that you'll never be good enough at this point to deal with them.

LRMs are moderately effective weapons. I rate lasers higher, by quite a ways.
If I can deal with LRMs, in a NON DDC atlas traveling 50 to 58 kph, then you should be able to deal with LRMs otherwise.

Especially since with ALL of my fatlai combined I have less than 100 matches in them.

when I start seeing them at high elo play, I'll consider them a great weapon. As of now, they are great when used to farm PUGs, because most pugs can't spell teamwork, let alone perform it. There's a reason Poptarting dominates High Elo. It is much more effective than LRMs, even "LRM Teams".

Every hear of honor among theives?

In order for a player to pop-tart, they won't have physical cover from lrms because they have to be able to jump high enough to take a quick shot and decend leaving the sky above them wide open. The cover blocks the missile lock, but it doesn't prevent the missiles from hitting them due to the angle. Pop-Tarters simply have chosen their preferred playstyle and stopped using missiles in order to refine and min/max a single aspect of the meta game. If you flank and tag the tarters, the missles destroy them in theory. Why don't people TAG them? Because focused AC/PPCs obliterate lights trying to get TAG for their teams.

Tryhards have broken this game down as close as they can to one-dimensional gameplay and it drives players out due to frustration and boredom thanks to PGI indulging them. They can't handle adapting, so they dig in and refine one aspect. Only PGI can force their hand to change and then they cry foul. Foul is how this game smells letting them grow lazy and corrupt this whole time. Now they've established bad habits, and those are the most difficult to break.

the only semi logical way to reduce large scale Lrm spam is have a limit on the number of Lrm a player can have in the air at one time without spreading of the Lrm fire

say instead of ghost heat for Lrm u have a limit of Lrm which your "targeting computer" can control an any time
set this to 30 Lrm in the air at one time and if u exceed this limit the spread gets slightly larger

say a cat c4 launches its twin arty lrm 20 this exceed the limit so the effect is an non arty 40 missiles for spread

if u have a twin 15 twin 10 boat or quad 15 the spread if you have more than 30 missiles in the air at once reduces its effect

There's plenty of good solid advice on this forum for properly dealing with and disposing of LRM Threats. Quite a few posts of which are from me even. There's no sense in copy pasting the same thing over and over again when the steering wheel underhive would rather rant cry and be butt hurt about one of the overall least effective competitive weapons in the game.

I PUG too. As I said, you cannot effectively balance a game based on PUG play. Because PUG play is too chaotic for reliable data. High Elo play, on the other hand, specifically shows what is actually broken, what is exploitable, and IF the Devs actually were to pay attention, would give the roadmap to balancing things.

You don't base your game balance on the lowest common denominator. EVER.

Sorry you got that backwards. The "Tryhards" as you call them, only care about winning. They don't care how. During the original LRMaggedon, they all played LRMs. High Elo players don't give a fig about a single weapon or tactic. They'll use whatever it takes to maintain their precious epeen. PERIOD.

Nice conspiracy theory.....if it wasn't so myopically misinformed.

FupDup covered it nicely.

I prefer the term Sofa king facerollers myself.

Steering wheel underhive is what stuck in this game though.

It's a slang term for very very low elo, and/or very bad players. Basically, imagine somebody trying to play the game with an ACTUAL steering wheel.

Interesting how you don't see LRMs in the current tourney. Well, it's no surprise to anyone with common sense about this game but I wonder what all the LRM complainers think about that.

Oh, wait...this thread isn't about people that know how to defend against LRMs.

When the problem is people who don't learn, the answer is not "nerf".

It is, and always has been:

Actually, they double their back armor when they play in the PUG queue, because the Underhive hasn't learned how to actually aim at the other team yet.

What does that say about how far down they drop when they PuG then?

I see a lot of newer players.... yet I rarely have to worry about friendly fire. :)

I'm just matching a brain dead, simplistic answer with equally simplistic platitudes.
