E.G. Only 1 AC20 or Gauss on a mech. May not stack 2 PPCs with ACs. Max of 40 LRMs per mech. Etc.

I think we would see much more varied builds for one thing and the non meta builds would have a smaller DPS gap....

"What are Stock Matches like?"

There fixed it for you

What would the game be if you could not change ARMOR at all?
a Jaegermech would be food if not carefull and thunderbolts would be way more durable then other heavies.

Arbitrary limits are a horrible idea.
Mechs should be able to house whatever logically fits (weight/Internal Slots).
The limiting factor for weapons being fired simultaneously should be a proper Heat Scale.

It would seem arbitrary, and even worse than Ghost Heat in design.

I suggested something similar to this in another thread. (Limiting armor maximums to within 20%, rounded to nearest half ton, of the stock armor value.)

Wouldn't hard caps just encourage people to play certain mechs (kind of like now) with the largest weapon they can carry (kind of like now)? This would simply be forcing a new meta on players; new look, same taste.

That is a joke right? Restrict the K2 to only AC2's or MG's for its Ballistics? LOL!

was I laughing????

nope.

The K2 shouldn't be able to mount an AC20. Wasn't designed or intended.

The stock K2's 8 empty critical spaces and 2 weapon-filled critical spaces say a 10-crit weapon fits just fine in the side torso.

Now, if they'd actually based performance on original weapon size for ballistic HPs like they do tubes for missiles, THAT would be quite appropriate. Burst fire AC's combined with that would have made mounting an AC/20 in a K2 a looooooong burst gun.

But instead, all AC's perform exactly the same and fire single shots. At least till Clan AC's come along and Paul makes them behave like a proper AC should, while failing to fix IS ones. Hee-larious.

only time i get a high damage game in my gauss catapult is when I have to do everything myself. otherwise it is usually around 500 or so which equates to 3-5 kills and a buttload of assists.
