So I just had a match with only a minute of waittime and we had 3/3/4/2 on our team. But now I'm still searching again like the first two matches today (yes, I now played 3 matches since patch lol)...

Not surprised. My wait times immediately after this patch were super long.
Seems 3x4 is not working very well for matchmaking no matter what they do. Maybe they should be a little more flexible and change it so there is more wiggle room for mechs to be 2-4 mechs of each weight class instead of a rigid 3?
I just don't want the games that have 8 assault mechs with a handful of the others. However, given long wait times for games I would prefer to keep the matchmaking we have.

I wonder if there's a way they can check weight classes in queue so we can find out if it's a flood of Victors and CTF-3D's clogging up the tubes.

they should just go back to the original weight class matching that they used to use.

3x4 was expanded to 4x4, then 5x4, then 6x4, etc., and finally turned off altogether. PGI used the opportunity to get data on drop rates, wait timers, etc. They have not done a back-end hotfix that should return wait times to normal (it did for me).

PGI keeps multiplying 4 by 3 and getting 11

Repost due to button mashing error: Alright everyone. Matchmaking numbers continued to spike with Rule of Three's. So we are adjusting this Class Limit to a maximum of 4s. This means any of the following variations of weight classing will be possible:
3/3/3/3
4/3/3/2
4/4/3/1
4/4/2/2
4/4/4/0
etc..
We are going to see how this works out, there remains a strong possibility we will have to further increase this maximum or altogether shut off the class limits and revert back to group limits in the interim, so please stay tuned here. We are playing by ear on this one as we build the data. Thanks again for standing by.

Update:
We would like to thank you all for your patience. In spite of today's one shortcoming, we are happy that the remainder of the patch remains intact, and thus a full roll-back won't be needed. We were able to receive a great deal of useful telemetry data from your successful and unsuccessful attempts to launch which will help us provide an even better system later on.
The Quickening of Engineers has completed and a couple of changes to the back-end are about to be introduced at 3PM PDT / 6 PM EDT / 10 PM UTC, which should resolve any further matchmaking delays until we can release the next iteration of the matchmaker in a future patch.
The hot-fix will NOT require any patch on your part.
If you click search again at that time, everything will be back to normal. All players in a game will not be affected.
Our gratitude once again for standing by.
