Key word right there.
Replace PPCs with large lasers and I bet most poptarts would be lucky to get 3/4 of the beam to even hit the target, much less keep the lasers on an individual body part for the entire duration, all whilst still midair.
I should make a poptart build with lasers and gauss, and I will dub thee, "The skillful meta."

Poptarting doesnt require any skill at all. Holding a laser on target for the full duration requires way more skill. Yet youre rewarded far less for using lasers than PPCs because pinpoint > damage over time.
Pinpoint damage needs a serious kick in the @ss. ALL autocannons need burst fire, not just the clan ones. And PPCs need arcing damage too. Thats the first step towards better weapon balance and getting rid of ghost heat once and for all.
I dont even wanna play the game right now... because every weapon other than PPCs, ACs, Gauss, ERLLs, and MLs has been rendered utterly useless. Every single missile weapon is worthless now thanks to the most recent patch.
And this tournament really does a good job of exposing how poorly balanced the game really is. Only a very small subset of the mechs and weapons are getting used... and nearly every team has the same or a similar composition.
