Indeed - the only way to get MC in this game is to actually purchase it for cold hard cash. (Occasionally they'll put on a solo-tournament with the winners getting some MC as a prize, but that's pretty much it).

MC cannot be purchased with GXP, only with real money.

They occasionally, not often, discount the price of MC. You can also purchase Ultimate Game Cards to buy MC. Some stores put these on sale as well.
So the most cost effective way to buy MC is to buy UGCs on sale and then save them until PGI puts MC on sale, too.
