Hello again all mechwarrior fans and forumites!

So with yet another patch release I decided to log back into the forums to check things out to see if the game is worthy to play again. Judging from the patch notes, and the various responses from who I deem well respected members of the community, I see that still our beloved franchise is floundering and remains stale.

I truly want to play this game again. I've been here for YEARS now. Yet while I love the game and enjoyed my time playing the fact remains that we're in a stagnant period and have been for many months now.

I posted awhile ago "What Else Is There To Look Forward To?" and my feelings remain the same.

No new maps in forever.
No new weapons.
Matchmaker remains broken.
SRMs remain broken.
No new game modes.
No Community Warfare.
No Roles or Role Warfare.
Broken skills and skill trees still.
Broken items like the elusive Command Console.

All I see week after week is "Oooo! Shiny! You must buy now! It's got Sony guts!". PGI needs to understand that the playerbase needs actual game content. New mechs, or variations of mechs, are not content in the context that we're looking for.

I remain hopeful for our game that many of us have thrown money at, and some like myself who believed in it enough to back through Kickstarter.

I hope to see you all the future. Clan Mechs alone won't bring me back.

PGI, I truly WANT to give you money but you need to give me a reason to give you those funds.

I'll still be lurking in the back however, setting my beard on fire and making crazy faces, until that time comes.

There isn't a game discussion forum ever made, general or specific, that's overly positive. They're essentially virtual complaint desks with a line arranged so that customers can also argue with each other. Taking the temperature that way, and it's a wonder you play any game.

Want to see what's actually going on? Check the community subforums.

I've played since like March 2012, and have continously played for that period of time. I know the state of the game as it stands so I'm not "taking the temperature" by just reading the forums.

I check the patch notes, and as I said I occasionally see some posts by other members who's opinions I respect. Nothing has changed since I stopped playing a little over a month ago and I don't see signifigant changes happening anytime soon. We have deathmatch, that's it, with the occasional new piece of expensive shiny dangled in front of us by PGI that adds nothing to the gameplay.

You can't refute the points I make in the first post about lack of content no matter how much of a tryhard or white knight you'd like to be.

I have to agree with the OP.

PGI lures players into MW with it free, then at every corner they either promote you spending Real Money or they limit your game if you don't use Real Money. This on top of them pushing mech's with new colors and 30% cbill income isn't enough to keep people interested.

I do suggest new maps, The ability to customize your cockpit colors and even cockpits. New weapons should be introduced however it's more important to fix the ones that are out now.

What about new missions such as escort or capture the flag type missions?

What about PGI showing some love to the free player base that it has by giving a free mech bay ?

There are so many things that PGI can do to keep it's customers happy but seemed to have fallen into a greedy business that they are forgetting that it's a game and games are meant to be fun.

You can't bring yourself to play, and yet you play "continuously." Okay.

The funny thing about the self-entitled, backseat developer crowd is that most of them log on daily. For hours. So something is worth their time, in spite of their behavior here.

Try harder to comprehend reading. I did play continuously, but in the next paragraph I state clearly I stopped about a month ago. With patch notes and all that nothing has changed.

I'm no backseat developer, I just expect progress like most other people around here. I stood behind PGI for quite some time and now it is only becoming irritating.

Nice try though!

A few fair points.

On the topic of free mech bays, it's happened. Matter of fact just recently within the past couple months. You just had to log in and win 5 games. They did the same thing with a free Centurion mech if I recall correctly. That's doing it right in my book.

A new type of game mode needs to happen, and it needs to happen soon. Attack/Defend on some level absolutely needs to be implemented. Escort mode would also be acceptable, but the escorted mech would need to be beefier than the other 11 mechs escorting in order to make it worthwhile maybe.

I know new weapons are coming (Clan tech), but it would still be nice to see something new. On the same topic they absolutely need to fix what's out there. I'm looking specifically at SRMs.

I feel pretty much exactly the way Panda does. I've been in MWO since very early on, and while it took time, they eventually ground down my enthusiasm, my damned love for the game, over time with some of their decisions as to what core pillars are, prejudice against people who live on Islands ( I actually live on one daggnabbit!), and the relentless monetization of the game over progress.

I patch the game in hopes of reading good news about the game, but rarely do. Its usually just more "Lookit this shiny!!! Look, we gots us Flags" but very little concrete progress.

wah wah wah, you'll be around for clans. No matter how much you say no progress is being made, in reality progress IS being made, just not on your timetable. I've noticed for all the doom saying on the forum, most of them have founders or overlord tags by their name. Funny how that works. I read a study someone did about online game forums and interesting enough was that the people that complain the most on forums are soo emotionally investe in the game it doens't matter what the devs do those people will keep playing no matter what. It was just a side note in the study but intersting none the less.

I don't think it would be so bad if PGI wasn't constantly breaking something with each patch. I can stand slow development, but their sheer incompetence with balance and implementing new features really shakes my confidence.

funny,, I tend to find myself more on here than in game now days. And more and more in between matches in another game.

Did the study mention anything about all the time complaining in forums was a display of time not spent in game?

While I totally agree with you, you are wading into a shark tank here

the anger is strong and if you don't agree with them, or have positive things to say, you're wrong and stupid

... or even worse:

game definitely needs new maps.

Even if PGI has to charge $10 for a map pack which adds like 3 new maps (like titanfall did).

at least wed be paying for *actual* content

For some reason, this just rings true.

New maps aren't enough. Some new game modes would be really helpful as well.
