i beg ill see you against me on the battlefield...

freekill!

edit: too hot, way too slow.. mounting ammo in side torsi with an XL engine or, in a standard engine without case... happy dying,. otherwise it would be nice

Flamers????

Some interesting builds, but.... flamers?

Weight and slots better spent as an ML or even a SPL.

I was waiting for this "question" to pop up. Yes, it is awesome, there's a special trick up my sleeve. My team-mates were also surprised how it works well, tactically. I traded medium laser especially for a flamer. Thanks for noting!

The lrm ammo seems low and the speed on most of them , just my 2 cents.

Have you tried testing a dual gauss K2 for a bit? I have enjoyed lots of success with it after the projectile velocity was increased. Standard build would use 5/6 tons of ammo, two gauss rifles, xl 255. and two med lasers in side torsos.

I usually complete round with 15 missiles of LRMs left, it was tweaked over many games to give me just enough LRMs to support my group.

I will try Gausses on K2, sure!

Now I know you're trolling. They're too slow, too little ammo, flamers(?!?!), no artemis on some, some are running way too hot, ammo locations terribad. Suppose it was good for a laugh at least.

Well we shouldn't be too harsh. Those builds might work well in his Elo range, The higher I seem to go, the harder it is to be an LRM boat, and Cats get squishier and squishier the farther from the meta they get.

Then again, I never run a cat with fewer than 36 full salvos for my tubes, always moves over 70kph even before speed tweak, never carries AMS (BTW, a few of your builds have no ammo for the AMS...) and has a heat efficiency of 1.2 or better.

But that's my style and what I need to survive.

SInce you only have 4 tonnes of lrm ammo , with 2 lrm 15s, if you fire both shots you've got 24 shots before u run out of ammo , 48 if u fire singularly , So if your ending the fight with with 15 shots left your not firing much , Not to mention the fact with the engines in some of those your essentially a turret a atlas could run rings round

I like the "FATCATS" more

Just to sum it up. I was not trolling, nor I wished to disturb anyone. I was just roleplaying these mechs recently and had fun doing so.

My appology if it in fact was taken as trolling. It was truly not my intention, and appreciate your comments and critique.

PS. Camouflage on the -C4 is from PC Gamer magazine's redeemed code.

Wasn't taken as trolling by me. Roleplay is good here. I encourage it heavily in my unit, and am happy to see others do so. (nudge nudge any guys in my unit reading this thread. )That said, The builds you proposed probably wouldn't survive long against the opponants I typicallly face, but you have given me an idea I need to think about in regards to the A1 you put out there, but can't quite swing it. Needless to say, intriguing.

Thanks, Kjudoon.
I have been really intrigued when we finally received private game mode. If it only allowed game master to quickly place//drop mechs according to scenario before game launch and set their damage levels.
Good spotting on missing AMS ammo boxes in two mechs. It is an error on my side copying these from game Mechlab, I'll clean that up. I understand all your worries regarding these builds, although they played.really well,
Oh, and the flamer many asked. It can be f.e. played as anti-infantry with interesting element of being psychological weapon. Yes, you can role-play it, no infantry in-game or permanent burning or setting things on fire (pity).
Although In-game if you ask it practically worked when fired literally at enemy's cokpit front window, causing opposing pilot to back off or manuever and break firing, allowing me to take sudden advantage - really really
edit: thread renamed for convenience, added vintage photograph

I've caught flak myself by "Playing/Pretending MechWarrior and Battletech" on occasion instead of manipulating every competitive edge out of build engineering and gameplay mechanics I possibly can.

Eventually I had to acknowledge that yes, after gathering up enough individuals and putting the considerable effort in to trying to build a cohesive team, I did rather owe it to them to put forth as much as I possibly could into increasing our chances of success. Even to the point of using the latest flavor meta builds and tactics.

BUT: on my own (and with my smaller sub-group of goof off buddies), I totally approve of roleplaying in this universe.

tl;dr - I see what you did there, and I like it... sorry, this post was self-absorbed, preachy, and almost 100% off topic. At any rate the cats are neat. Don't let anyone talk you off of this sort of thing.
