I've got an old Saitek 3d Rumble Force.... can't even figure out model number on it, doesn't have any XFnumbers... things at least 10 years old.. anyhow i love the z axise twist on it and huge throttle bars

I'm seriously contemplating picking up the Saitek X52 setup. All I have now is a gamepad. I love KB+M but it seems like someone could benefit from a nice controller setup. The Mechwarrior games have a lot of controls and sometimes I find myself pausing too long to hunt down the right key (playing Mechwarrior 4: Vengence right now).

I checked it out and even showed it to my father in law that might be joining up here also (he's an old MW player like me) Heck he's talking about buying a few of the artemis when they come out so we all can play here with top of the line systems.

Just got my Saitek out of the basement in anticipation.. but I remember playing the first few MW games on PC with keyboard and Mouse and enjoying every minute just the same. I might use the mouse for aiming and the throttle+buttons on the Saitek controller for everything else.

I would love to get a new joystick and pedals but I think keyboard/mouse is going to be the best set up since it's more responsive and I already know where all the buttons are without looking...I think I'd get confused with a joystick and hit my jump jets when I want shoot or something silly. lol

Definitely Joystick.. exactly what I'm not sure but once the game gets closer to release I'll see whats available (and what funds I have!) and buy a nice setup.. a dedicated throttle and joystick for sure with enough buttons to keep me busy :)

X52 for me... Just can't get the circle of death right without a joystick... Of course my cockpit shots really suffered when I switched but it was worth it. We will see how MWO works with both

i'm going to link my brain directly into the game, aiming will be done with my eyes.

no but seriously a joystick for moving and aiming torso, mouse for aiming arms, foot pedals for throttle, jump jet ignition happens when i fart, ect...

Keyboard and mouse is the way to go. At least in other MW games. KB for most actions and mouse for firing and swinging th torso worked verry well =)

Might be time to get these one out of the basement:Posted Image

:)

Other than that, i'll stick with keyboard + mouse for starters, will pretty much depend on how accurate the hitbox+damage
model is, if everyone and his mother is going for the legs all the time, i'll do the same, if it's really as inaccurate as in the
first teaser vids, i may change to a joystick, too.

I'll be using an X-65F and pedals for torso and motion control, and a TrackIR for 'see-it, shoot-it' control of the cursor (even if I have to run it in mouse emulation mode to pull it off!).

Well, this is how I see it:

Joystick for more immersion and cooler feel

Mouse and keyboard for accuracy.

I'll be using mouse and keyboard even though I just purchased a joystick. I'll probably play with it, but will keep using the mouse for aiming for body parts. :(
