Well I only put 60 bucks in and have played this hundreds of hours. I suppose that is fair, I guess. But I have little incentive to put more money in at all right now.

This is spot on, I am currently getting the most out of my investment in this game and tbh I have played it so much that i dont feel ripped off or anything, i have had a lot of fun with my Phoenix package but I bought it in anticipation for CW.

I do feel purposefully mislead about almost all this games 'features' that were 'supposed' to be being worked so I don't and wont spend any more money on it and the constant stream of 'cockpit' shit3 and MC mechs infuriates me as thats all PGI seem capable of delivering.

This game is in the perilous situation of having my attention because the other games on the horizon are not quite ready yet.
I have money to spend, but I wont be spending it here.

I might drop $30 just to get the colours and mech bay etc for the heck of it.

I'm neither Deaf nor Blind, You need not yell. I stopped spending around $680. I have a cabinet full of good hooch and Prescription coverage for only the best drugs.

I have not been cheated, and doubt anyone who has bought anything in this game has been.

Y'know...I'd like to say that I regret ever having spent money on this game, but that wouldn't be true.

There was a point where I felt it was money well spent. Even tried to get some friends and even my kids interested. I'm the only one left. There's a reason for that.

I was really, REALLY, looking forward to buying a Stomrcrow and maybe a Timberwolf. Now...maybe when they're being sold for PGI stock (cbills)...but I'm not going to waste real money on a digital product that isn't long for this world.

I would not say cheated.. i got what i paid for.. Now time wise feel a little cheated. If someone told me two years ago that there would still not be planet cap or anything even close to it in two years i would not have gave my time. Other shooter games out there with better graphics and well everything else..

I would be happy if all mechs were buyable with CB and they charged for new Map packs.
I simply cannot get excited at the thought of trudging round 'Alpine sh1tty peaks' or 'Terrible therma' in a clan mech, theres just no motivation to buy more 'meshes' just to add to my overflowing 'mesh' collection.

To all the people advising to take a break: I broke off playing six months ago because of the horrible bugs and unfun game play. Came back to all the same bugs, a UI apparently designed by CIA torture specialists, insane wait times, a tournament so bad that even PGI staff didn't bother show up, and they even managed to break training grounds - even though it is local! Connecting. . . WTF?

Past performance does not guarantee future performance, but it is a good indicator. This company is beyond redemption, and I will never give another nickle for Vegas trips and Maui vacations. Star Citizen starts (early, early alpha) in a week or two. I expect the MWO playerbase to crater once it does.

Mechwarrior online has really inspired me to go back and play the old mechwarrior games. I need to try and get Mechwarrior 4 running. I never played it, but I'd like to try. I wonder if I still have MW3 floating around...hmmm.

The thing with elo is that you should expect to have a roughly 50/50 win/loss ratio if your elo is stable. The problem is that the MM doesn't really use an elo system, and it seeds players who are new into the middle of the rankings.

What we end up with isn't game play among your elo peers, but rather a sham that preserves the 50/50 win ratio without the commensurately good game play that should up with playing among the people who have a similar level of expertise. Then it creates teams that have equal total skill team to team... but that doesn't mean individual player skill, which can vary widely.

to address the OP:
I stopped dropping money when they announced the Clan Invasion with no invasion. I spent on founders as much for the promise of solid, setting based, community warfare as on the promise of stompy robot combat. In fact that was promised to us within 90 days of closed beta's end.

I picked up a pheonix package under the assumption that CW was coming sooner rather than later. Later turned out to be correct.

So I'm done, they've already gotten more money out of me that any non-mmo game has managed previously. I hope CW is good.

Such is the fate of forums to be full of mad. However, I don't think that will happen since CR is actually listening to backers, rather then MWO who considers dissenters to be island dwellers. SC is already ahead of MWO and a hell of a lot more open about their process. Cough, organizations, cough. Useless Vlogs cough cough. Laughable patch notes that absolutely did nothing to break missiles cough, cough.

But to each his own I suppose. For me the difference is if the company possesses the ability and will to improve. Nothing in my time with MWO shows any capacity for that, and even indicates they are actively deceptive about it at every opportunity. Ex. Community Warfare.
