Personally I didn't find it so terrible, I enjoyed playing it with all the LRMs, PopTarters etc, with anyone trying to do max damage it was quite funny for me, because it's true that those build can be annoying but also many people switched to them but can't use them I noticed also much more misses.
And I had my 2nd best game on a quad AC Jager on a LRM fest with a successful flank I think I might have registered.
But yeah given the results with arty I'd probably have been into the MC zone, but after all I don't really care for so few MCs, better having the cockpit items that I would never buy for real money haha

I do not like all these "PUG" tournaments, especially on weekends when wants to play and not get 10 air strikes in the face in each game.

In all seriousness, you guys pulled ahead like crazy, went from 5th to 1st almost over night.
Given the current non-existent state of CW, lone wolves is as much of a faction as any other in this game.

While it would make the formula a lot uglier on paper, I would like to see more benefits for indirect means. They would have to be small points value though. Things like spotting assists (nevermind the tag/narc bonuses) can rack up really fast.
Frankly, even if the rewards were almost worthless, it would still be better than nothing.
My thought would be 1-5 pts per spot, component, cap victory. Those would be the easiest ones. I used 2 pts in the formula for all fields below:
Kills × 20 + Kill Assist × 10 + (Damage Done - Team Damage) + Components destroyed x2 + Spotting Assist x2 ÷ 15 + Wins × 20 + Loss × 5 + Capture Win* x 2
*Name may be different. 'Objective Complete', cannot remember the exact variable reward title ingame.
They are already recorded ingame by the rewards system. While they can rack up fast if you are specialised, their extremely low 'worth' will not bias them. If you include them with the divide for damage, each spot and component will only be worth 1-5 damage, which I believe would be fair.
Example:
14 components I believe was my highest in the tournament using a MG build. 14 components or spots, by this system would only equal 28 damage if it was worth 2 pts. Small but remotely tangible. Truthfully, people still probably will not go for a Cap win with the above formula.
I probably would not include Tag/narc, UAV or C-ECM. At least not on the first iteration. They seem a little too easy to abuse. I am not very creative and I can already imagine being slightly tempted when running a BAP to run in and out of an ECM mech's range (if that counts?), see how many C-ECM I can rack up. UAV would become a must have, just for free points.
I understand Narc/Tag users should probably get something for their trouble, however it's good practice not to add too many variables in one go. If you throw in 6 new parts and things go horribly wrong, it is difficult if not impossible to tell which of the six (or combination of them) messed it up. Narcs/Tags require/encourage a normal spot assist anyway, so they are worth something.
Cap win would also bias assault, so might need to get left out. I do not believe there is a reward for winning on resources in Conquest, just a value connected to the resources themselves. Perhaps you can add in resource value? Before the divide or with its own, that's vital in my opinion.
Suffice to say Cap/resources needs a lot more thought than just spotting or components.
At the end of the day simpler systems are much harder to break. I would rather have a simple but relatively un-abusable tournament than a complex 'cheat-able' one. All the same, I think it would be safe to (conservatively) put one or two more cogs into the machine for next time around.
EDIT: Typos & removed numbers from my conquest thoughts. They didn't work. I was not going for a full fledged suggestion but looks like I just did.

By the way I think nerfed AC2s are just fine if you also have lasers to make up with the nerfed dps.

Problem is that when they put up their team tournament (which is still running) people where yelling their heads off about having to be in a team.
What sort of tournament *should* they do then?
Solo = omg art/air strike and meta! boooring that I cant group with my friends, wtf teambased game!!!one1
Group/solo = omg people in premades are ruining it for the solos due to them having an advantage! Unfair!
Team = omg I cant apply as a solo, wtf! Unfair, PGI sux!
Sorta covers all the bases, no? Whatever they do, they will be whined at. They cant win!
Yes, it would help if they discounted any damage done by strikes, but they would still be flamed for some reason or another (I can almost hear it now; WTF! I pay 40k Cbills and I dont get anything for it?!).

Cheers! And congrats to everyone who made it.
However as a Steiner we should I recive at least a 50% faction bonus to the earned MC!
Anyways, pretty intense torunament or as I like to call it, Lrmnament...
Meta was heavy and so was LRM, barly switched to my Jenner due to this :/
And @ PGI, more humane Tournament dates would be apriciated. Sat-Mon in US time is pretty heavy for non US time zones... especially if you have to work

same for me no MC even ! with a score that would gain in almost any other faction(and win on some).
But also not using any consumable didn't help was quite silly by me once I was therebut didn't bother, left 3rd finished 6th, nor playing all the matches all at once 4/5 hours straight, in the end I was sucking and couldn't pull off any good scores.
only good thing is I still had free premium time on, so I made like 7 mil cbills
Btw anyone had their items yet? and do lone wolves banners or flags even exist?

It will be manually injected in to our accounts later today or Friday.
On a side note. I'm interested to see how the new MM will affect the outcome of these tournaments. If at all. People that know how to work the system will continue to do so. It will be interesting to see none the less.
