Yes they are known for xl engines, often times because...well....who would miss that ct? some people like them with it, some don't, i personally didn't because i know my first non lrm awesome, the 3 er ppc awesome, would have had to give up 2 double heat sinks to fit it and it already had the max engine. really no point. They also cost A LOT. I personally also tend to manage to get a side trso (or both) destroyed before going down so i just use a std. IT may be worth it on the 9m, how ever, with i guess roughly same 3 er ppc build as my 8q since that has higher engine cap, something like........
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8fe41cd1bbfcef9
you could fit 3 doubles in the left arm if it wasn't for that stupid pointless hand actuator........

I would probably drop the 3rd arm mounted ERPPC and replace it with a LPL to help control heat and remove the possibility of Ghost heat. Not sure yet really as I don't own one. I'd also probably run it with a std engine if I could make a good build off it. I don't like XLs in overly heavy things. Tends to feel like a lot of wasted armor points too often... Battlemaster seems to be the only Assault of mine to take the XL engine and be reasonably safe with it.

ehh idk, iv mastered my awesomes so slowness and hotness arent asbig of a problem for me as some, and the arm ppc was its on weapon group, no ghost heat for me. I just think xl engines cost wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much

My best PPC mech is Cicada M3. Dual PPC, ECM, XL320. Enough armour, hard pounch with 2-3 alpha, and than fast run away.

With the current state of the game.... Do everyone a favor and stop contributing to the PPC Metappocolyse. Play the game with a little intelligence. Instead of going for the one shot sniper builds that have infected this game. My suggestion, if you like the PPC, is to use one of them. vary your weapons for all combat ranges. Nothing erks me more than some douche nozzle spending the entire match hiding, pop-tarting and failing at contributing to the team because their prey has closed in closer to 90 meters rendering you useless. This is layered combat (or supposed to be). You should be effective no matter the range.

The Banshee is a good choice, it's large and well armoured compared to the Awesome. The 3M or 3S are both decent PPC platform, but the 3S is better because it can use a PPC in its arm and fit a big ballistic weapon like a Gauss or an AC20 to sync a little or give you different options..

ERPPC's are way to hot to be effective, it's better to stick to regulars and use backup weapons for when the enemy gets close.

Use This Site to figure out a build for it.

Here's a build that mixes PPC's a little for some variation: BNC-3S

You got some medium lasers for when the fight gets closer to 90 meters. You have the AC10 and 2 PPC's as your main weapons for fighting at 90-600ish meters. Here's an all PPC build: BNC-3S

As a rule when using 3x PPCs have one group for chainfire with all of them and make sure to take time to cool off between volleys. Use your lasers only when the fight gets too close for your ppc's to hit. I'd recommend chain firing them aswell, they can be fired fairly quickly if you tap the button fast.

I'm a fan of my Stalker 5S, twin ams for the missiles, and you can easily (with an XL) fit 4 ppcs/Lpulses on it, with room for some srms in the torso. For the short while I used ppcs ( prefer my pulse brawling) I used 2 ERs and 2 normals, the extra range was rarely truly necessary, but they were good for keeping people away in conjunction with the srms. And yeah, chain fire all the way, you can get away with an alpha on normal ppcs, but the ER's just have too much heat.

Another good mech for a 2 ppc build is the trebuchet 7m. i run mine with 2 ppc and 1 tag and 3 ssrm2. 90 kph speed with speed tweak. My srms lock quick and with lrmapocalypse and ecm meta I have been handing out 450 in dmg and a lot of spotting assists. Its also just plain fun to run around in.

PPC is almost a must with 5 ecm mechs on a team per match. Negate that ecm andallow your smart guy with his 4 lrm 15 4 ml (me in a stk 3h :) ) to bash that ddc back to Kurita

I run a 3xERPPC Phract 2X. Suffice it to say that it's "hardmode". While it's quite capable of dishing out a glorious kill now and then, it seems to be just as likely to blow itself up from overheating, even with fairly careful (although apparently not careful enough) heat management. On hot maps, it's absolutely laughable. :)

Your call, but I've been thinking about replacing one of those ERPPCs with something else (yet to be decided).

What DJPush said, but I'm REAL surprised no one's shoved a Stalker at you:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...e7196033282e0c1

You can also drop a couple heat sinks and pop in a couple ML. Runs hot, like all Stalkers, but you can do it.

Honestly, I've found going with ERLL might work better. It doesn't have the anti-ECM mode or pinpoint damage, but they're cooler, insta-hit, and weigh less (allowing you to run more heatsinks or backup weapons).

For example, the same Stalker 3F with ERLL:

Most snipers consistently put up the most damages on PUG matches......

I've been using a Jenner with Dual ER PPCs for quite a while now as my main mech. I also run a Heavy Metal with 2 ERPPC and an LB-10X with some SRMS as my main assault mech. PPCs just require VERY carefull monitoring of your waste heat, but no more so than any other energy weapon. Just remember that PPCs are slow to travel, and generate a lot of heat when fired in pairs.
