I have noticed a trend recently (actually, it's been around since MW4 and previous MW games), but you have a handful of novice players (~75% of the MWO community) that have either never played an FPS before or have but with all their power, cannot learn to snipe/play strategically.

Thus, these players perpetuate this wretched hate for "pop-tarting" stemming from ignorance. I have recently been getting team killed and flamed in many open games when being seen running a victor/highlander or cataphract build (usually meta) and it's getting pretty bad.

It's sad that novice or less experienced/low skilled players would rather be ignorant and perpetuate hate within this community, rather than ask more skilled players questions and to how we play or the strategy we use.

Obviously, anyone that has loaded CS:GO, Battlefield or any FPS longer than 5 minutes KNOWS that running in the open is a recipe for death, and the use of cover/terrain is pivotal to success, that combined with mouse cursor placement and many other elite FPS tactics (i.e. competitive gaming)

Finally, if anyone sees this player "XXXXXXXXXX" in an open match, be sure to pay your respects and give him a nice alpha in the rear for all your elite sniper brethren:

No no no the pop tarters are the novice players there so terrible at the game they have to kill all the fun , make every battle exactly the same. And use a broken build that gives them a massive advantage because they are to terri bad to play on even terms. Please if your the pop tarts leave the game no one will miss you, Your the worst players this game has in every sense of the word. Don't try to defend yourself your indefensible if your poptarting.

also like to point out this game was not built as an FPS, but as a Mech Simulator...., if you want to play CoD style, go play TitanFall

cuz the enemy team had a disco (12v11) and dude was like "we gonna stomp ur face" in a poptart with TS and his buddies.

so i was just "evening up the teams" for a fair match .

Tbh. i have seen Mellifluer in a few pug games, and i cant say anything negative about him.
And, next thing, i rather have someone taking out a "bigmouth" on his own team, evening out team scores,
then someone like the OP, in any given match.

How do we kill "fun"? "Fun" is subjective - it is dependent on the perception of the subject in reality. There are multiple humans in this Cosmos; different races/ethnicities, height, weight, gender, environment, social status, thus, it must be that there are different "interpretations" of "fun". "Fun" is winning to me. I am a competitive e-sports player. I don't sit down for 2+ hours on the computer to game and lose. That is not fun to me. But I don't assume other players must have my views. I don't hate anyone for LRMing, or Brawling - if you want to play that way, so be it. Just leave my builds and play-style out of the negative attacks to attempt to "nerf" the play-style out of this game.

Define "broken build". What is it about it that is "broken"? Have you ever played any other FPS or game in general? Do you ever notice the player with lowest stats, K/D, W/L ratio, experience, virtually ANY statistic complain about "broken meta"? In Battlefield, it was the M16a3, in Counter Strike, it's the AWP, M4/AK combo. The idea you fail to grasp is that intelligent players will ALWAYS adapt and find a new strategy to be dominant. One of the main facets to good/elite "gamers" is intelligence, contrary to popular belief.

If it wasn't gauss/PPC in the launch, it is AC5/PPC now, and later it will be Lasers, and then they will still own you with LRMs and be the players you can only dream of. You will never 'out-play' or 'out-think' and intelligent gamers that employ intelligence into their gameplay.

You can report team killing. I don't even advocate that. What you're seeing are more irrational players standing up to what they think are bullies, because the real ones have terrorized the general populace into taking action. This is exactly why I took the approach of changing attitudes, before an ugly mob broke out. Now those frustrated players will be disciplined, and PGI will be called into action.

Why not just employ those tactics here and dominate the low IQ'd peon players? Domination is pure bliss.
