So lately I've been seeing the appearance of a lot of ECM Lights running around NARCing targets, which are then promptly obliterated by 2-3 dedicated LRM boats. With the current state of LRMs, and the duration of NARC, this is VERY devastating. It requires some cooperation (but that's part of the intention of the game, isn't it?), but there isn't really any counter to it, beyond hitting the Light with a few alphas before he can get a NARC down. I've already seen a number of people taken out before they get a chance to do anything, and if the NARCer survives the opening of the match, that team usually dominates.
I propose that NARC be set to be countered by ECM set in COUNTER mode. This will prevent NARC+LRM from being overpowered and dominating the PUG scene, while also making NARC a useful ECM counter, because to block the NARC's spotting-behind-cover effect, an ECM mech will have to switch from DISRUPT to COUNTER, reducing or eliminating the ECM bubble covering the group.
Set this to count the same way ECM currently counters ECM, with one ECM on COUNTER neutralizing one ECM on DISRUPT, and a second ECM on COUNTER to neutralize a second ECM on DISRUPT, so that two NARCs require two ECMs on COUNTER, and the NARC will remain useful both in its designated role, and as an ECM counter weapon, but will not be overpowered in its designated role, with no effective counter.

WORKING AS INTENDED!....lol
ECM I dont think is ever going to get fixed. So we just have to live with the Broken system and move on. I have asked and pleaded for it to be looked at for over a year. Instead we get a rework on NARC, I guess it is something but I am not holding my breath anymore. I am just moving on, and trying not to rage quite when I get swarmed by 4 Raven 3Ls. Yeah its like that this weekend...lol

It only makes sense when you consider what the ECM is supposed to do(counter communications from inside the bubble reaching outside of the bubble) and what the NARC is supposed to be(a beacon that transmits position information)...
Alternatively, I would recommend that the NARC gets a low % to be knocked off per hit. Say, 5% per missile to be taken out.
I think that this will give it an overall better percentage of time up than when it was a fixed damage amount(haven't done the math of it so just an assumption) but gives some variance on how long it is active that is dependent entirely upon how many missiles are raining on it.

ECM already cancels NARC... unless the NARC hits the ECM carrier. Then the NARC shuts down that single ECM. I think that, considering how broken the current hard counter system is, that's the best implementation PGI can do.
What they should do instead, though, is rework everything wholesale. Change it all into a system of soft counters, with penalties and bonuses that interact rather than having some things arbitrarily cancel other things.
