I have a question regarding thermal vision.
I've seen MWO videos with the old version of thermal vision and i have to say it looks WAY better than the current b&w one. Why this was changed? Was it buggy or something? I don't really get it.
Regards.

The old thermal was too good, it basically was so good you would never play in any other vision mode, even unaltered. This of course was not good because you just played in purple every game.
Of course the current version isn't really proper thermal mode, but at least it doesn't make you want to use it 24/7

Yeah, PGI hates the players, they liked something too much so they took it away and replaced it with an uglier inferior version.

Capper is correct. The enemy was visible as a blue blob at any range. During the gauss/erppc era one could hit the enemy on their base from the start of the match on River City. Not fun.

If someone can aim that well for that long a range, and the enemy is standing still, they deserve to get plinked.
Its not like the weapons hit for full damage at that range.

on river city ER PPCs would do just about full damage on the other side of the map

So long range weapons need to be further limited by what you can see?
Then why bother having weapons with optimals that long if you want to disable visuals at a shorter distance.

Then why couldn't they just limit the range of sight on thermal vision mode? They had to change it completely just to do that? It's weird really.
