Oh wonderful, we have HTTP GET requests with side-effects... If that's allowed I wonder what sort of lovely XSS attacks this site is vulnerable to. Note to self: never log in to mwomercs.com unless posting.

Anyone that wants to know the total players in each faction for the tournament: next time create a smurf account for each faction, opt in, and play one match but do no damage. That should get you the lowest score, then you can see what place you're in at the end. Really only one person needs to do this.
Pretty fun tournament, I got all the way up to 23rd in FRR on Saturday (when FRR was at the top overall LOLOL) then didn't play Sunday and ended at 98th. We've done weight classes and faction tournaments now, maybe it's time to revise the end of match rewards to promote Info Warfare/Role Warfare and leverage that into Scouting/Support tourneys instead of damage done tourneys. I also envision pilot trees where you spec into a role or 2 (take scouting tree, miss out on brawling tree)... someday. Anywhoo

Due to some numbers released in another thread, there are tens of thousands of matches created every day, with roughly 3-10 matches per person each day and 24 players per match. That means there are lots of players playing regularly. PGI doesn't want to release any numbers, simply because they know we will do the guesstimate math just like I did here, so it likely won't happen any time soon.
Based off of last tourney, where I started in the 500-600 range after my first (not very good) match, I estimate there are at LEAST 500 per faction participating in tourneys, so your 241 would put you solidly in the "average" bucket, possibly even on the high end of hat bucket.

Hm, i was thinking that the numbers of tournament not necessarly lead to an correct guess for the overall playerbase... But dunno, didn't thought too hard about this.
I have to admit, i didn't check the place after first match. Wouldn't have helped much anyway, cuz i had quite good first match...

But if its at least like 500, i am satisfied with being average.

Great idea - I'm surprised no one has done that yet.

I would say roughly 60-70% of the active population participates in any particular tourney, with higher numbers in the solo tourneys (due to no group restriction) compared to group tourneys (must have a group to even participate).
