I have 2 mechs that need fixed DEVS the Awesome and my Catapult the Awesome gets CT cored 99% of every battle I play I should just junk it and get another mech but I truly enjoy playing in it.The second mech that needs fixed is my Catapult it has the same problem CT cored 99% of the time. I don't know if it is a armor problem because I run full armor on both mechs or both mechs just have a hit box the size or a barn door.

P.S could you please add a auto refill for consumables in the mechlab for all mechs would help? I get tired of refilling cool-shots and artillery-strikes after each battle. :D

Use an XL engine at very little risk.

The Cat suffers from the fact its CT is...out there, the Dragon has the same problem. Big CT little Side Torsos, they make great XL mechs.

The Awesome is just a big barn, not only are LT/RT easy to hit, but that CT is too. Its just like an Atlas but with 20 tons less, it doesn't have the armor to protect its massive bulk.

Its been like this ever since they came out, since the Cat was one of the original 4 mechs, along with the Awesome being in the next set.

You can adjust the hitboxes all you like, it won't change the fact that the Awesome is the proverbial side of a barn.

I understand what your saying its just I don't understand why the dev team does not fix some of the most obvious problems these mechs have? you would think they would reduce the hit box sixes on the CT and side torsos or the mechs with weak designs like the Awesome ,Catapult ,Dragon ,and any others to make them more playable and durable in battles.

The benefit those mechs have is the fact that they make great XL mechs, meaning you can pack more weapons in return for having a slightly weaker mech.

The Clans across the board are going to have this very same issue, but they will be packing so much firepower, it may not matter.

Note that having a very large CT is not a prerequisite to being XL friendly. The 55 ton mediums like the Shadow Hawk and Griffin tank like beasts with XL engines, and can spread damage almost uniformally between body parts. There's also the Victor that was reasonably XL viable, at least back when it didn't have agility on-par with an Atlas.

I might agree with you but for the fact the mechs already overheat so badly with just a few weapons on them I could not imagine more weapons and more heat I would die from shutdown 30 seconds into every battle I play. Plus i have no love for clanners hahaha

But with hitbox changes it could become tankier than a Stalker.

Just make the arm hitboxes enormous. The Raven has ghost leg hitboxes. Why not give the Awesome ghost arm hitboxes, extending into the side torso area? Extend arm hitboxes until the remaining torso area on an Awesome is the same width as a Victor's torsos.

This would give the Awesome tons of left-over arm debris when the arms are blown off, so if you twist against incoming fire, and take it against the side, it will reduce damage to the side torso by 50%. If you use a STD engine, and the shoulder is already blown off, you reduce damage to the CT to 25%.

Awesomes would become these mechs that just *refuse* to die when piloted in a proper defensive fashion, and give them a unique edge over the other 80-tonner.

Regardless of whether the Catapult and the Awesome need hitbox changes, PGI is in no hurry to do any hitbox changes, if at all. So don't hold your breath.

Shadow hawk is not a good XL mech with ballistics in its torso, as that torso shares the same issue a Hunchback dose. If you ignore the ballistic entirely then the hump isn't that big and XL is viable, but only then. I have punished many many many a scrub who thinks AC5/2 with an XL is good....then there side torso blows off in a few shots because its hitbox just got 3x bigger.

Giffens/Wolverines are good XL mechs provided you don't take massive missiles in the Griff (dat big target just screams hit me) but the Wolverines are good even with missiles as there "pods" are not all that big.

Having a giant-ass CT is not an advantage in any sense of the word. If the hit boxes were fair, I would actually be able to choose between having a side torso to shield and XL, instead of just defaulting to XL. 'Mechs with viable torso geometry actually get to pick.

Being forced into a choice to try and be effective (i.e. scraping for more damage before you are inevitably cored with yellow side armor) is not an advantage.

SHD at the same time, has a ginormous CT hitbox. The ballistic torso doesn't really affect its survivability because of that, Shadohawks in my experience die to CT failure 90% of the time. As opposed to Hunchbacks who lose their hunchs 99% of the before they die.
