Hello All,
First I Apologize if this is redundant, I tried searching for a current topic on map rotation, 701 results showed, no date info.
After 4 pages I gave up looking for something current.
So here is a another what's up with the map rotation? Getting sick of these maps. Not just me, I see many saying the same thing in game.
Seems to be around a 2 to 1 seeding on newer maps vs. older maps.
Map Name---------FC - RC - FCN - FCS - RCN - FC
Matches------------ 83-- 80-----79 -----77-----67-----53
Map Name-------- CV-----CS----CN----TT----AP-----HPG----TD
Matches ----------139----137---137---133---131-----129-----120
Anyone else seeing this bias? *Note This data From after the stat reset.

When I look at my stats and count maps with variants as one map, not two separate maps, the difference between most played/least played is not that significant.

There's definitely something wrong with it according to my stats.
I have maps that I played 120-140 times while many others are at 40-60. And it really pisses me off when I get Mordor bullshit 3 times in a row.

My stats are similar.
My older maps range from 37 to 59 being the highest.
All newer maps are from 84-109.
As far as the meta, it actually exist on all maps.
My guess is that, since some of these maps create balance problems, PGI is spending a lot of time at our expense gathering info for their efforts in balancing the game.
Don't forget, the Clans are on their way.

Add up the base map and the alt version. The numbers are similar when you do so.
The maps with 2 variants have half the drop chance as maps without an alternative.

Perhaps this is part of the key to how PGI's matchmaking works. It seems to make sure you play on the single version maps twice as much.

I have the same issues with mordor, caustic valley, and alpine peaks. I have played those maps almost exactly 2x as much as any others. Serenity Now !

Add the numbers for the maps that have twins together and you'll see the numbers all come out about the same.
Forest Colony and FC Snow
River City and RC Night
Frozen City and FC Night.
from the OP:

Matches------------ 162-- 147-----130
Map Name-------- CV-----CS----CN----TT----AP-----HPG----TD
Matches ----------139----137---137---133---131-----129-----120

If you're curious about the map rotation here is the weight.

Basically the way it works is that every map has the same weight. However, maps with 2 variants have their drop weight split in two. So Caustic Valley gets a 2/20 chance of rolling. River City gets a 1/20, but River City Night also has a 1/20 chance giving you a 2/20 chance of rolling a river city map.

Excellent, thank you. Supports what we are seeing. Only question would be, why the heavier weighting on those?

The maps with double weight have only 1 variant. The map with a weight of 1 have 2 variants of their map. Practically speaking every map has an equal 1/10 chance of dropping.
