Just had a friend sell me is 2 month old gigabyte motherboard it supports Haswell 1150 processor.
Will be running 8 gigs of gskill 2133 ram to be order and a r9 270x (7870Xt rebranded) video card
I want to run the game at 1440 by 900 res my monitor only goes up to 1600 by 1050 res at a steady 40 ti 50 frames at medium detail level can anyone recommend a Intel cpu that would do this with out overclocking I have a budget of $200 to $235 max for the cpu.

If you are currently running a haswell with r9 270x or 7870 video card and can post your fps that would be helpful in fact any fps with haswell processor since it is mostly cpu driven gamed would be helpful.....

Thanks for all the help in advance.

Your timing is off, Hoss: A new wave of Haswells just came out, and they seem as "meh" as the first set.

Tom's Hardware CPU guidance will update in a week or two.

There are a few more Haswells in the pipe, for overclocking, but who knows what the price will be.

You near a MicroCenter, or someone like that?

the closes one in altanta and I don;t drive in alanta nt that crazy the guy I picked up the board was ther toady and bought another board but didn't see any cpu at a good price they have according to the website the 4670l for 189.99 and the 4790 for 259.99 and 4770k for 269.99 but it in store only so **** out of luck on that score. Live in the 7 plan of hell Dublin, Ga home of the redneck games and know i don;t do those either.

So you think a 4670 or 4570 with 8 gig of ram and a r9 270x running at 1440 res at medium detial would get a stable 40 frames.

This Intel Core i5-4670K http://pcpartpicker....-bx80646i54670k It performs ok for an i5 http://www.cpubenchm...70K+%40+3.40GHz. Should be fine and plenty for your gaming needs.

With this CPU you can certainly run the game at the quality and FPS you want. For reference my system is similar to yours except you have a better graphics card and I have a better CPU and more ram. I use 16 GB for running Virtual Machines I would recommend only utilizing like 8Gb for a gaming rig. I run the game at 1600 x 900 with DX11 and everything at VeryHigh, Motion blur off, Post AA, Vsync off, I get Max 90fps and min 35 Average 63 fps.

Get the K-series i5 and spend any remaining CPU budget on a decent heatsink/cooler (a low-end AIO watercooler would be nice), then find a stable overclock. That setup will definitely net you your performance goal. OCing the videocard can't hurt, either, and will probably get you over the 60fps mark with high settings in MWO.

Wow awesome man. You can very easily over clock that 4770k by 400mhz if not 600mhz. As far as mwo is concerned you will easily be running on very high settings.

First drop with new system was 85 to 105 and not a lot of drop back and forth that the low and high numbers and that was on high setting also. Play was a lot more fluid but find myself lost in how all the effects look and that equal death. Did have a really good game in Shadow Hawk 2 assist 2 kills and 675 in damages not bad at all.

4770K it is.. Nice, I KNEW you would be happy with the 4770K...
I know several people with that CPU, and they are VERY happy with their purchase.
All of them pulled mild overclocks on the stock heatsink to 3.7 & 3.8 ghz and left it there.

One friend is clocked well over that on water.. He has a GTX 780 ti waterblocked with it ;)
