Okay, I admit I've been around long enough I should already know the answer to this, but PGI has occasionally changed how things work, and I can find no clear answers searching around.

If I have 3 Mechs (Firestarters in my case) and I want to level & elite them all, the fastest way is to obviously exit the matches where I die and jump right into the next chassis, rinse & repeat.

However, by departing early and not spectating the entire match, aside from the cbills I will lose (salvage & what not), will I also be leaving XP on the table too?

Will I be gimping my leveling process by not sticking around to watch my fellow pugs swallow their tongues trying to find creative ways to lose those 12-0 curb stomps? :)

Thanks for any definitive answers. After looking around here for previous info, all I saw were mixed opinions, but no certain formula on how the cbill and more importantly, the XP gets doled out in these cases.

Thanks in advance.

From what I understand, once you're dead and you leave a match, you still get the Cbill and XP reward from the match, so you aren't missing out on anything aside from getting to see how the rest of the match played out.

This is correct.

If you exit early you get any C-Bill/XP awards you earned up to your death, and you will get any end of match result awards (win/loss) as well. You do lose any rewards that occur after your death - mainly assists. E.g. you damage 5 enemies that are killed after your death you don't get these 5 assist awards if you leave the match. Depending on your performance in the match the assists could be as much or more as the other awards as assists have high reward values.

That is bogus and should be patched to count whatever assists you get...why count the win/loss but not your personal performance?

It's the anti C-bill farming mechanic that has been around since Closed Beta. To stop people from getting in a trial mech running out and hitting every enemy they can with a weapon, die, rinse and repeat. It was possible to earn millions of C-bills per hour.
