Hell some long game play videos so I can see how a few full matches play out could be enough for me to put down more cash on this game. I just don't want to put down 120$ worth of cash for a game I'm unsure of.
Also you can't spin this as a kick starter project, no matter how hard you might try. This is a almost completed video game in the polishing and marketing stage of it's life. I'm a customer not a financier for this product, it's mwo job to convince to buy, and I want to with a lot of other people here. I just need a little more to feel secure in the purchase I'm about to make. After all it's not like most products where I can return it if I feel the product was unsatisfactory.

Oh yes.
Being an all PvP game and having so many fans used to playing solo. I'm confident they just done a cash grab because a high number of players probably don't even like the levels of PvP they would need to enter in this game.
I will bet my $120 that 1 in 5 Legendary Founder buyers are in this forum with I quit type of threads before the year is out. Not because the game is bad, just because it is not MechWarrior 5!
Anyone with a bit of strategy in them would have held on to their money and demanded beta with legendary founders, if not open beta.
But all founders do get beta access. a number of lucky ones will get pulled into beta before August 7th, Everyone else gets in on the 7th well before the game even goes into open beta.

I just hope the founders mechs aren't the same as the useless Eve online ships you could get as a founder!

STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!!!!

Our fathers would refer to this as the proverbial "pig in a poke " type of purchase. Evaluation can create greater interest or also conferm suspisions.
Are ther ANY of us that will buy a new car- without a "test" drive?
The importance of beta trial is: For me- "its going to tell the difference in the level of founders pack I will aquire" If its "ALL THAT" then i can comit to the 120 dolla top choice. If it feels less than that- I would have to make a lesser committment
Since ive played this since Battletechs birth-long years before the birth of the internet.....no one but me can make the choice.
And dont let me detect you with in range.........

The game is free so if you want to play it you don't have to buy but only wait it to complete beta stage and go in release!!!
Get the Founder packs if you feel that you want to support the game and let it live longer possible.

You in no way shape or form need to buy a Founder's Pack to play the game. It is simply an opportunity for them to offer something semi-substantial to a long waiting fanbase. In return, they get a (definitely) substantial amount of money, based on the charity of those players.
If this wasn't a F2P game, I would be crying foul, but Pirahna has shown nothing but sympathy in developing MW:O. I really thought the Founder's Packs were a great way to show my support for someone really giving something I love (Battletech, Mechwarrior) the respect I would have liked to have seen.
I digress. It's very simple: if you want to help the product be the best it can be, buy one. If you want to wait and see, you don't get to participate. What's the big conundrum?

I thought the 7th was early access not beta?

found·er 2 (foun

n.
One who establishes something or formulates the basis for something: the founder of a university; the founders of a new nation.
As a founder you can't be sure what you will get, but hoping for the best and helping to get it there.

Ye ye gimme your money

I'm trying to get confirmation on possible beta play earlier than planned. There is a lot of people demanding it, probably as much as there ever will be.
If they continue to say a strict NO CHANCE. Then there may not be any point in continuing to ask and just pay up

Do you mean get a 2nd account on legendary. You don't mean, upgrading your current account plus another account?
Just wondered, I know some players open two accounts and in some MMO it has its uses.

Its both? Its also launch in a sense?
Its part of Closed Beta 2. However at that point forward there will be no wipes...and founders get all their nifty stuff. So one part launch, couple parts closed beta (as the game won't be entirely finished yet at that point).

As a founder you can't be sure what you will get, but hoping for the best and helping to get it there.
It is a pre-order. What you are buying is not a free game but in-game items (mechs) and subscription fees to a service. They are not free and will never be free. You are also buying (pre-ordering) in-game currency. Essentially you are buying stuff beforehand and none of it is "free". You are making a purchase and you are getting your stuff later but you pay now. It's a pre-order. If you pre-order a car you are not an investor. You are not a founder. You just bought a car and paid beforehand. Even if the car comes with a sticker that says "investor" or "founder" it is just a sticker.
You are not founding anything except one thing. The only thing you are founding is the online community of players of mwo. The founder pack is called founder pack because it sounds cool and allows people to feel like they are supporting something (which they are) but honestly you are pre-ordering the stuff I listed. And there is nothing wrong with that. But it is not investing, it is not founding. It's a purchase.
You also failed to understand your own dictionary quote. You are not starting the development of mwo. You are not laying the foundations of mwo. You are not creating the basis of mwo. You are not formulating the mwo and its mechanics and systems either. You are supporting the game by buying game stuff by pre-ordering sold content.
The founders of mwo are the guys who are making this. The customers are not the founders. The investors are the ones who pay the bills before the game starts making profit by selling stuff or service to customers.
I have no idea why you are trying to twist this to some kind of financial agreement or financial investment when you are just buying game content and getting a sticker that says "founder".
