Neg. I would suggest talking to support.

FWIW I uninstalled it and went back to 7. Not because of MWO, but because of the clunky non-interaction between the Metro UI and the standard desktop.

No problems here, using 8.1 Update 1. What sort of problems are you having?

I still don't recommend Windows 8/8.1 to anyone unless they are using a touch-screen.

There was literally NO reason to get rid of the start button, and then HotFix it in later.

Windows 7 is getting a bit old, but all I hear from people about Windows 8/8.1, is just how much it sucks, and asking me how much I charge to put Windows 7 on their new system.. ROFL

The start menu is coming back, right now stuff like start 8 rectify it right now. There are some nice things under hood in Win8.1.

So far no issues here with win 8.1

Yes there are a few nice things about it, BUT the problem is that people don't like too much change.
They want better options, something better, but they don't like pain with their change.
The same thing happened with people that went from Windows Xp straight to Windows 7, although Windows 7 was pretty much considered and easier change over..

Personally I skipped Windows Vista completely, I had it, I worked on it, but I didn't use it for personal use because I was Lazy, and Windows 7 came out shortly after Vista anyway...

Windows 8 will be here for a while..

The odd running issue with MWO? Only within the confines of the game - nothing Win8 specific, my Win7 machine has similar glitches.
I've not had to change any system settings to make MWO function either unless you count keeping the gfx drivers up-to-date.

Is there anything specific you had in mind?
101011 is likely right, Support may be your best option if you're having specific issues.

Spoiler

I am running windows 8.1 and it works fine. I upgraded from 7-8-8.1 not because I necessarily wanted to, but more of was eligible for the free upgrades. I also miss the old windows 7 start menu. So in case anyone else out here wishes they could get it back and are not familiar with "Start 8". I will post a link. Best $4.99 I have invested in a long time. Also there is a coupon code out there that will save you an addition 50 cents off the price. You can download the full thing for for 30 days free if you want to test it. Anyway here is the link

Start 8

8.1 works perfect for me too. In fact, it brought back compatibility for certain older games that didn't work on 7. Go figure :P

The metro interface is great, if you are using a tablet or other touch screen device. For traditional desktop users it's very annoying. 8.1 gave us back easier access to the desktop and 8.2 is going to give us the options for either environment and an easy way to switch back and forth.

In its current state it is usable and runs MWO quite well. Just remember to run the game and any voip or screen capture programs in administrator mode for them to work well together.
