Diablotek
Despite being called an "850W unit", would probably explode if you pulled 400W from it.

It would help to know exactly what kind of PSU you have.

Diablotek Power Supplies have LITERALLY been classified as an incendiary device by the United Nations. ;)

Seriously though, they are the worst, NEVER buy them.

When getting a new Video Card ALWAYS see if your PSU has enough AMP on the rail being used for the Video Card, or better yet buy a single rail PSU with similar specs.

Hey, they say it right on the Newegg page: it gives you one of the best "bangs" for your buck you'll ever find! ;)

Greetings all,

Question,
When you attempt to start MWO does the fan on the video card race up in speed?
- Just loading that program should heat jump the fans to a higher rpm, the MechLab is terrible for overstressing the GPU.
- Does the PSU fan speed up at all during any of your game playing?

- Have you attempted to swap the power cords for the PCI-e ports, checking to insure the wires are fully seated in the plugs and operating correctly?

Just throwing these out there, as it could be just a bad cord or connection.

Note here: For a really good quality PSU you should be looking at somewhere in the 100+ $ range, certified 80+ silver, gold or platinum level. If all the items within your case total up to 700W to 800W then getting a 1000 to 1200W PSU will somewhat future proof you, as well as never maxing the PSU out.
- The lower quality PSU's have a set life expectancy, after a number of power spikes through them the parts suffer degradation and will never come back, to the point of them failing. (the parts are designed to do this)
- I just replaced an older 700W cheaper brand (only one available at the time) with a new 850W Aurum Pro, everything works so much better.

Everyone just thinks the Intel Chipset-.inf installer works, when it's been broken since Win7 rolled out; You can make a shortcut to the Setup.exe, adding the augments listed, or you can do it by hand, just to be shore …

Hi everyone,

I MAY have fixed it. I reinstalled windows yet again, and I changed some of the cables in my power supply (hooked up different 6 +2 rails to my 780 ti). Either one of those actions seem to have solved the crashing. Have not had enough time to commit to a full test, but preliminary results (no crashing within 15-20 minute sessions of MWO) look promising. I'll keep you posted!

Thank you so much everyone for helping me troubleshoot. A special thanks to Catamount, Goose, and 9ErRed for returning to the thread to lend your advice. Take care all, and I'll see you on the battlefield!
