Steam recently launched a neat feature, called In-Home Streaming. it is actually something I have been trying to do with VMs and Remote FX, among other things, for a while without much luck - I like to game, but sitting at the couch with my wife from my laptop, but my laptop is limited in how much horsepower it can provide. I have a gaming rig, but I hardly use it, because it no longer fits my gaming style.
However, if I could leverage the horsepower of my gaming rig, from the convenience of my laptop, then I am a happy gamer. Thus, I was quite happy when I learned of this new feature, and have used it successfully with several title available through Steam.
Now, while it isn't officially supported, 3rd party games launched through steam can work, so long as their launch isn't too complex or require a UAC prompt. Unfortunately, MWO is both. The UAC prompt is easy enough to remove, if ill advised; however the launcher can't really be bypassed, at least not by any method I know of.
In short, I would like it to be possible to launch MWO through Steam as a 3rd party game (you pay Valve nothing) in such a way that it can be used through In-Home Streaming. As it is, I pretty much can't play the game without it - not for any technical reason, but simply because it doesn't fit my lifestyle anymore.
