In MWO : waiting to find out, Command console currently takes a crit and a few tons..that's all it does at the moment but from the twitter posts I guess there's going function(s) given to it instead of it's current placeholder status.

In TT : Targeting computer allows you to "call" you shot to a location or gives you a better hit modifier if you don't call your shot. Command console is a akin to a second set of controls from what I undertand.

How great would it be if the targeting computer allowed you to target any body part other than the head that would turn a near miss into a partial damage hit. I think that might be the best way to implement it. AS for the CC, I think it would be awesome if it allowed video feed from UAV's and/or returned the old thermal vision colors.

CTR and C3 I always felt were a bit overpowered in TT.

In my perfect world

CC allows you to have someone piggy back on your video feed and go into the map independant of your action and set waypoints, etc.

the TC I have heard some good suggestions including overlaying the hitboxes on targeted mechs and giving you a lead reticule. (both would be a bit OP IMO, but cool considering the tonnage spent.

None of this is going to happen of course, but that would be how I would like it!

Command Console
Targeting Computer

In MW3, this is what the Targeting Computer did:

Quote

Targeting Computer: A valuable unit, allowing you to target specific body locations, and provides an aiming cicle to help target moving enemies. Especially useful for ballistic and long range missile weapons, it's value to energy based attacks is less. Lasers reach the target almost instantly, so there is no need to lead a moving target. Machine guns, too, with their limited range and fast projectiles usually do not require additional support for aiming and firing. It's effectiveness is severely limited by the use of the ECM suite, rendering the aiming circle choppy and unstable.

(You can tell this player is using a TC, since a small green circle appears over the component they are targeting, thus showing them where to aim)

Bonus, MW3 also had working C3 Computers in a way:

Quote

C3 Computer: A two part system, consisting of a Master and a Slave unit. Will augument radar effectiveness by displaying lancemate or allied radar signals on the host radar display, effectively increasing the range. A very heavy device for the value obtained. Avoid this equipment unless specialized mission requirements neccessitate it.

target computer sounds like a cheap bot aim that console people need to play a video game.

as for the Command console, i basically fail to see how that helps in anyway.

bot aim would imply it aims for you, not giving you a reticle to aim at.

I would guess that since these are support electronics and not an ECM suite that they will be given ECM counter capabilities like other support electronics have :P
