This seemingly tiny detail is a very important issue. Drives me nuts, and now that we have a shiny mechlab we should be able to arrange the mechs the way we want anyway. Fixing the trial mechs thing asap would go a long way.

Wanted this from day 1 of UI2.0 - And I can't think of any reason to not to.

This is not even a way to get more money from people, it is just disturbing. I guess this was a deliberate decision by design but I really have no clue why...

Yes please, just remove them from display of owned mechs, since they are not actually owned. The trial screen would be perfectly fine.

I have a hard time seeing why we even need to ask for this, it should be an absolutely basic feature and take 5 minutes to implement.

I agree with all this, but make it default to "Trial" if you have no owned ones so the new players don't get confused

Asked this on first day of the new UI. Plus one time I chose one by accident for a match, and now it's on my mech stats forever like a bad tattoo.

Hopefully we get a response cause this is ridiculous.

In some sense it is a matter of perspective. If you look at the "owned" filter not as actually owned but rather "selectable for drop", then it makes perfect sense to show the trial mechs on that screen.

There are already filters on the left that select subsets of the droppable mechs. Now an elegant solution to this issue would make those allow for multi-select instead of acting like "radio buttons". So the *union* of all selected filters would show up. All filters would be selected by default. Click the trial filter to deselect it and whammo you have the union of your Light, Medium, Heavy, and Assault that are not Trials!

This would allow not only the filtering of Trials, but also the display of arbitrary combos -- want to show just your lights and assaults -- just deselect the other filter buttons.

Actually, to be more precise, the system would display the union of the selected filters minus the union of the deselected filters

I agree with the OP, only show trial mechs when you select the trial tab. I also prefer the Hero mechs to be grouped with their fellow mechs. Example being the Firebrand listed along with the other Jagermechs.
