The most obsolete two letters ever, because most games in here are everything but GG...

GG has two forms imo, kind of like Noob and newbie. Newbies aren't bad because of lack of trying but experience, as Noobs never tried to improve and are just as bad as when they started.

GG is either an insult or a compliment. It is hard to see the distinction, but I've been roflstomped by premade 12s (bug in the pub queue) and they were complimenting us on giving them a good fight even tho we were pugs. I've also been told GG in close games where it was easy to see they thought they'd really stomped us and we were poorible. Sometimes it is just used to say "Hey, glad we had a game I had fun". No matter what situation or connotation it is used in, it does have a place, but I would prefer it were used as a compliment or an acknowledgement than an insult.

I dont see why people cant just shrug their shoulders at the childishness of some people and move on. You can tell when its meant as an insult.

Make it a point to say something other than gg at the end of the game that makes an equal amount of sense.
Examples:

Jigga Jigga
Sploof
Cakeback is the true back

etc

In truth as I'v seen most just forget or don't use "Y" for team chat, as you always want to congratulate your pug team for not doing one, or multiple, of the bad, teribad things that resoult in a 0-12 , so they do it in the all chat and it rubs the losing team the wrong way, or ther a-s-s-es who had others do it to them so when they get in that position they feel compeled to do it....

GG close has a place, and it's ether on a close cap situation or on a 9-12 and up.

I say gg win or lose, because that's just polite. Didn't youth soccer teach you anything?

It can also be passive aggressive and not polite. I guess its in the eye of the beholder. Did the kid who sat on the bench in your league get a trophy 2? :)

If people wouldn't log off right after the game, they would get my 6 sentence analysis of the game, whether it was good or bad and what make it better, but by the time I hit enter, I'm the only one connected. :)

Unless it's 11 - 12 I just say "g". A simple acknowledgment that yes, what we just collectively experienced, was indeed, a game.

That, and o7, always cause me to fight the urge to tell them to stick up their ass. Or a BLNF, for bad luck no fun.

Also, o7 is not a salute. No one salutes like that. Children o7 to show you how much they hope to grow.

07 is the salute.

You do not play any sports game and flip the losing or winning team the bird, well not in good sportmanship. It is the same thing. GG at the end of a round, is my shaking the other players hand, saying good game, I had fun.

Every match, win or lose is a good game, if I was having bad games, why am I still playing it then?

GG, after every round, it is the way to go.

Dang you guys...

Is there any way to have some genuine chivalry traditions? Must be Americans after a football game, they all just clump together and congratulate their own side.

You guys are freaking Dolf Lungreen, "I must break you" when the person just wants to touch gloves.

People get offended when someone says GLHF... Good luck, have fun?

You get offended when someone says hello?

You must be the same sort of people that sneer at me when I ask if you are finding everything ok. It is called being friendly, if you are not, this is not my problem.
