Have jump jets equipped in your feet propel your mech in a straight upward direction.

Any jump jets equipped to the torso's should propel your mech in an upward and forward direction.

I think it would add dynamic and complicate pop-tarting, just to thin out their numbers. Along with the increased fall damage I think we'd be in a better place.
