Why Is The Ac20 On The Bj-1(C) So Much Smaller Than The Ac20 On My Misery?

If they were proportional then I'd have an AC50 on my Misery.

The AC20 on the BJ looks like an AC-2.

Lol, yeah, I guess so.

Except that there is no upside and a huge downside.

Well....you technically have an AC60.

But the art is weird. Look at PPCs from the Awesome, then look at the PPC spiders and Firestarters. They scale with the mechs, when they shouldn't.

Perhaps BJs are not meant to mount an AC20 in the first place? The large bore will look quite silly and easy to take out.

The moment MWO hard point mechanic meets reality.

PGI might change the apearance of the A/C20 on the BJ, but you won't like the change.

Look at all the threads (especially with the Catapult) where weapon appearance changes had butchered the appearance of some mechs (PPC barrels on the K2 is a perfect example).

If the BJ looks good now with it's A/C20, pray PGI doesn't touch it.

It's not the size that matters, it's the 45 Tonnes behind it!

I think it might be a condition called laziness... or it could be that they don't want to mess around with hit boxes based on weapons placed there, so they throw something together that works easier.

Laziness, lack of planning, left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.. You know, typical PGI stuff. Same reason why if you mount 3 machine guns on a Hunchback 4G they stick WAY out and they just clip through the hunch... And the tiny PPCs on the Cat, and the VCRs on the Cat, and so on.

I personally love the longer barrel on the BJs AC20, they should have carried that through to the Raven and mayber to a lesser extent the firestarter.

Also I have read previously that not all AC20s are neccesarily the same MM cannon. Also longer barrel tends to mean more accuracy, as opposed to the 2 foot long barrel on the Ravens AC20.

there isnt a PPC spider yet, its just a laser model, probably why it looks small lol.

That's a valid point...it's not a PPC, it's a Flamer!

Very good responses, thanks for the info guys.

I find/found it funny when I tried the BJ-1(C) that it had what appeared to be an AC-2 when compared to what is on the Misery.

I think the AC-5s I had on my Jager are bigger by comparison than the BJ's AC20.

I won't cry foul but come on...............

I had always assumed it had something to do with armour. After all, a Blackjack's arm has only 28 points of armour, the Misery's side torso can have up to 72. Maybe the actual AC20 barrel itself is quite small (Blackjack/Hunchback size) but the additional armour needed to protect said barrel is why the Misery's is far larger.
