AC/20: 2551 hits; 52,016 total damage = 20.39 avg damage
PPC: 8,469 hits; 84,539 total damage = 9.98 avg damage
ER PPC: 56 hits; 620 total damage = 11.07 avg damage
AC/5: 5,650 hits; 29,579 total damage = 5.24 avg damage
Gauss: 1,084 hits; 17,274 total damage = 15.9 avg damage
Lasers are of course about half damage since I am always firing them when enemy is within reach but.. I hit enemies out at 400 meters with the AC/20 early on in matches, so that clearly isn't 20 damage, and I shoot lights and big things on alpine past 1000m with PPCs... and that's definitely not where 10 damage should be dealt. I'm not here to complain about data.. just surprised.
I remember one time I took an AC40 in the side torso of my SHD, which I had just turned the front ST armor to 40, and after taking the hit I had yellow internals. So clearly autocannons have a bit of splash damage.. but PPCs and Gauss, too? I always saw mechs turn slightly yellow from grazing shots, but didn't think it would actually matter? Or perhaps the damage system does not correctly account for the range of each shot taken?
Anyways, just pointing this probable error in calculations. Just go to your profile and check the weapon stats to see it. Lasers are fine, and SRMS possibly, what with their damage changes and splash.
And yes, I'm looking at "CURRENT" weapons data since the stat refresh.
