I've been watching this game ever since it was going to be a retail game, and they had that awesome trailer in the city, and I can't begin to explain how excited I am for this to come out.

I remember playing the original Mech Warrior games on my fathers PC when I was in elementary school, and ever since then I've pretty much played them all. Maybe not as hardcore as a lot of people here seem to have played them, but I enjoyed them none the less. Even the xbox spin offs, and the Mech Commander games were a great addition if you ask me.

What i'm worried though is that none of my friends are going to have the interest I have in this game. I haven't been in a "clan" since I played Chromehounds before they shut that off (I was desperate, okay!), and i'm not really the kinda guy that can just jump into a match and have tons of fun. I like to queue up with a buddy, and play with a team. What i'm trying to get at is, are there any friendly "Squads", or "Clans" that are popping up for this game? I'd love to be introduced to some if anyone has any suggestions.

I'm going to be participating in the founders club, so I shall be playing from day 1.

Well, there's 160.000 people on these forums. I'm sure you'll find enough groups willing to take in one more
Take a look at http://mwomercs.com/...6-faction-talk/, http://mwomercs.com/...forum/39-clans/ and http://mwomercs.com/...orp-recruiting/ for example. I'm sure you'll find a group of people to your liking in there.

Also, welcome to the club :D

I think there will be plenty opportunity to play with groups, potentially even Squad Rivalries, team play, championships, etc.

The way they are portraying the game, it will definitely reward cooperative play, which will undeniably involve tense battle-moments of excitedly yelling into a microphone.
