I noticed that after the patch the Blackjacks haven't really had their weaponry re-modelled.

I really think all of the weapons could use a re-working:

Here's the AC2, arguably this should be the smallest but from appearances is actually bigger then the AC5 barrel.

The AC5 actually looks smaller then the above AC2 barrel. It's also incredibly hard to tell them apart. The AC5 should have a larger diameter barrel for the bigger shell.
Posted Image

The Ultra AC5 is also extremely tiny. I feel like this should actually be larger on this mech and overall match the AC5 barrel length.
Posted Image

The AC10 does get bigger but it's just as long. Almost all other models that have been redone have the barrel lengths become shorter as the weapons get bigger.
Posted Image

Also notice the LBX being so tiny and short barreled? I understand it's a shotgun but it should actually be the same length as the AC10 just with the heat guard being on it to differentiate.
Posted Image

The AC20 which is by far the biggest caliber auto-cannon currently in game is almost indistinguishable from the AC20. It should have the shortest barrel (heck similar to the LBX10 above) but with a much larger diameter bore (similar to how it appears on the Raven).

The Gauss rifle is the only truly "passable" ballistic weapon on the Blackjacks but even then it still suffers from the resizing.

Then you've got your PPC/ERPPC being just extremely odd looking coming out of the arm as well as being extremely long. After seeing the PPCs be revamped to be tiny tubes I have to agree with others here on the forums that the old large style PPC barrels (as still seen on the Awesome) are actually the way to go.

Then machine guns for giggles. Though these seem very large in comparison but it makes them stand out.

So I truly feel that all the ballistic weapons on the Blackjack should get another pass and make them more individual.

That is kind of splitting hairs. I would appreciate if they fixed all of the Awesomes as they do not display weapon changes at all.

Looking back at their recent Trebuchet "improvements" I with they wouldn't touch the Awesome.

Do I want the Awesome and other older Mechs to get weapon mesh changes? Yes.
Do I think there are issues with some? Yes.
The Jackie PPC looks like the Griffin PPC except the Griffin one is more snub nose.
All Griffin Lasers look the same when placed.
Then there is the issue of the Hunch.

For the record, the BJ was the next mech released after the Highlander. The Highlander was the first to receive dynamic hardpoints.

PGI had to do minimal work outside of creating the specialized hero, so inevitably very little had to change.

They really need to focus on getting the remodeling done on all Inner Sphere mechs left hanging in the wind once the Clanners get their Mechs finally... roll out a huge *** patch after the Clan release that includes us a new map (hopefully... plz, we would really love it), plus remodeled Mechs... yeah the patch will probably be large and some will complain it crashes their clients and whatnot... you can't blame PGI on that, blame your ISP :)

I disagree. The LBX is like a sawed-off shotgun. It's also 1 crit and 1 ton lighter then the AC-10. It SHOULD be smaller.

I could understand that argument. However it shouldn't be significantly smaller like it is.

I want the Awesome fixed as soon as possible. I feel they will go the route of the K2 style laser weapons. I just hope they don't make itty bitty PPCs like the K2 has.

I thought the Trebuchet dynamic weapons was actually done pretty good.

Ac/10 and Ac/20 are nearly identical... Where is the boomstick ac/20 that the atlas, jager, phract, etc. field?
