This all came about while talking to one of the DHB while playing, so I figured I would throw this together. Using a gigabyte board you could sun what every brand you like but I have founf the OC more durable so asrock or gigabyte or asus or msi either the z87 old last chip or the brand new z97 chip.

If your need to update for MWO and looking here are some basic components that don;t break the bank, Video card choice is up to you Nvidia or Radeon.

just a side note I recommend anything in radeon 7870 or the 7950 or better and it want break the bank. remeber the R9 series up to the 290 is a rebranded 7000 series it only when you get to the 290 and 290X that it new chip. The sweet spot would be the R9 280 which is the 7950 plenty of power, I am runnign it with a 270X which is the 7870 and it runs it well but more would be better.

I hope this helps anyone looking to upgrade and check out the e-mail deal from newegg you might find a package deal that you like, also if you have a micro center you can get to go ther they can;t be beat on ther cpu prices....

Nice Mobo.. Everything looks good EXCEPT... There is no reason to get the i5 CPU over something like the i7 4770k.

Yeah it's a few bucks more, but some new i7 CPUs are due to be released fairly soon.

I've heard this and that about i5 CPUs, and seen what the 4770k can do, but I still wouldn't drop money on an i5 Cpu right now.. New things are in the pipe as we speak, and the i7 still edges out the i5 by a margin.

Yeah people will say that you can do this or that, but if you could wait a couple months, and or get an i7 for a decent price, I would just ignore the i5..

Let the semantics begin..

EDIT: get a Corsair SSD like the 240gb Force GS, or a Samsung Pro series over a Crucial..

The Crucials are decent, have decent speeds, but they are starting to drop in quality, look it up.. I just replaced an older Crucial SSD with a Corsair SSD Force GS, and it seems to be really good.

Speaking of the new CPU's on the way, Devil's Canyon is right around the corner, and sure, it offers quite a pretty bit of performance for an i7 (the 4790k is clocked at 4Ghz stock), I'm willing to bet they are going to be charging an arm and a leg for it. Hopefully though it'll bring down prices of the rest of the mainstream i7 line.

Was going with the cheapest Intel 4 core I could that was decent. I have a intel 4770K running it stock for now so I can tell you a night a day difference between a AMD Athlon 645 and a Intel I7 4770K.

The other thing is I was going for decent SSD with decent space for a os and mechwarrior online and battlefield 4 install I would much rather have the samsung 840 and new egg has it on sale for $105 for a 128 Gig and they have the Intel I7 4790k for $339.99 limited time and number.
