Crashed to Desktop? Fatal Error? Frozen? Let us know what happened here!

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:
  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
  • What are your System specs? (You can include them in a [ spoiler] [ /spoiler]
In some cases we've seen that deleting the shaders folder and relaunching the game will solve these crashes and related issues.

Simply delete the shaders folder located here by default:
C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER\Shaders

Mine crashes as the game starts to load a round, get the error message "FRead did not read expected number of byte from file, only 128 of 0 bytes read"
Just running the repair tool now, hope it fixes it.

Here's a crash bug you guys have needed to fix since CLOSED BETA.

Memory Allocation errors. That is all.

Changing my graphics settings does nothing to asuage this cursed terror that's besieged us since Closed Beta. Upgrading my graphics card has done nothing to asuage it.

I refuse to upgrade windows 7 to 64 bit, and even if I do, these errors will persist, as they have with most other players.


Please go back and fix this at some point?

I am getting the "connecting" after a game error ALOT more after the patch, Not been able to play more than 2 games back to bacbk before getting it, forcing a quit restart. I heard this is a known issue, but it had fixed itself after a few games before the patch, now it's back more often.

Repair tool fixed the issue, it found a mismatch in objects.pak.
Have played a few rounds, all is well again.

Various crashes to report from 12v12 private matches.

On average every other drop one (random) player from (random) side would be left behind in the lobby while the other 23 made it into the private match. There were no messages, no crash to desktop just some sort of synchronization lost between the group. Player had to leave group and required a re-invite after the match completed.

Players effected had both W7x64 and W8x64. All were in DX9 mode.

last night I had a hang "connecting" after hitting quit match, twice out of 4 or 5 games.
I use dual screen and listen soundcloud and internet was fine both times.

Tonight I had it hang searching for 15 minutes (while I read the forum)
I task manager to kill process, reloaded game and it found a match In 10 seconds.

then after second or third game it hung again on "connecting"

mmmm, never had this before the patch.
time to run repair and if lucky fix what was borked,
but since it is inconsistent I don't think it will help.

so i will play MWO "mech waiting online" and MWO "me work onfiles"


( repair tool found no mismatches )

Just tryin to play a 12man Public tonight. After hitting the launch button, 3 different people got disconnected randomly while searching.

Seems like about 50% of the time the game will not reconnect after a match. The "connecting" disk just spins for minutes. I have to shut down the game via the Task Manager and log back in to play.

since this latest patch whenever there is a loading screen or searching screen it is about 95% black, i can barely see it if I'm looking at it at night. Also this screen is black when i push esc during a game making it extremely hard to see whats going on or leave games. Again the screen fades to about 95% black and in the darkness of my room I can barely see whats going on. I used the repair tool and it was not fixed.

I cancel the matchmaker. I go and reconfigure my mech. In the middle of fixing up my other mech, the previously match aborted mech is mysteriously launched without its pilot. It takes up to 25 minutes before its released from game. It happened on my arrow, and now the jagger-DD....

Its like the matchmaker doesn't really cancel... and now I have locked out mechs.

Cant get connected to a match at all all night long. Same thing is happening to my roommate. Most of the time it searches and switches to the connecting... screen and then it kicks us out to the mechlab whilst dropping the no pilot mech into the match. we had been previously playing for about 45min without incident when we were both knocked offline simultaneously. upon reconnecting neither of us can connect to a match. we both tried a variety of mechs, we tried dropping as a pair, solo, trial mechs etc. training grounds still works fine. we have both run the repair tool and nothing has changed.

i think ive maybe disconnected from this game 5 times in the entire year that ive played.

but its been 7 times today.........

After every single match, it says on "Connecting" forever. My connection is fine. I have to ALT F4 out of the program, restart it, then everything boots right back up. The fact that I have to do this after EVERY SINGLE MATCH is absolutely ridiculous and not worth it. It's a fun game when it plays but I can't keep crashing like this. I had this problem at random in the past, but now it's every match.

after logging in, while loading the mechlab, the entire program crashes and disappears

worked a week or so ago

I would like to finish more than 1/4 th of my matches. It consistently crashes to mechlab w/ nomessage or disconnects me completely w/ "Server connection was lost", and it`s slowly getting a bit annoying.

This has been the case since the last patch of may, though it seems to be getting worse and worse.

A Reinstall did not help.

my game seems to crash after logging into the game. there is no error message and it has worked before on previous versions/ patches

I've been getting a lot of OOM errors, since I upgraded to windows 8.1. Small screen to desktop. Windows wants to close the MWO client.

My system has
8GB ram
1 TB HD
2 GB NVIDIDIA GEFORCE GT 650 M
intel i7 2.4GHz with 6mb cashe

I think I finally fixed the issue of oom by increase my virtual memory manually. min 16000 MB max 48000 MB.

Been having sporadic crashes or server disconnect messages. Crashes me out of the game or from the main UI to the login page. Today especially a bad since but I have been having this in varying degrees since February.
