Hi,

As some mechs have jumps jets, it makes it difficult to land anywhere with precision. How about a crotch cam or foot cam with a mini video in the right or left corner of the HUD so you can see what you are landing on. The video could also be transparent as an option so you can still see.

This would be a similar idea for mechs to have rear torso weapons as in they do in the battle tech universe, A back Cam would help make this possible with a small video showing what's going on.

Lastly, it would be nice if beside the weapon names in the cockpit it showed where the weapon is on your mech. For example: PPC - LT, LT being for Left Torso. This would help in grouping the weapons better especially since the Arm weapon mounts have a different range of motion from the torso. It is a pain that I have to fire my weapons first to see where it is on my mech so I can group them to my specs.

Never going to happen. Why? Because they (devs/crymeariverengine) can't do PIP. It's the same reason why the 4x zoom doesn't work as it should.

Greetings all,

Yes, this is correct. CryEngine can currently only render a single directional view at a time.

But there are some rather big changes arriving with Direct3D 12, or Dx12, Karl had stated that they would either need to wait for an engine update from CryTech or design it themselves. Neither would be happening anytime soon.

-There may be a work around, in that if, the entire view is switched to the new angle it could work.
- Being able to actually 'see down or down and slightly forward' will only need to be an option after Collisions are returned to the game and DFA is an option for JJ Mechs.
- The addition of wpns locations on the HUD readout is or has been added to the 'Little things that need fixing' list.

So, final- Only one view is allowed with this engine.

Don't wait up for Dx12 to help with this issue. This game will be able to support a lot of hardware, and I don't see them implementing something that gives users with a DirX12 compatible card an edge over others.

Being able to adjust the view like 9erRed says could work and would be nice if it were to be implemented if you could do DFA.

Here's a thought. Add the option for a small monitor in the top of cockpits above and out of the regular view. Use it like a modern car's rear-view camera screen. Doesn't have to have a wide or crisp view. Having it out of view and off would prevent performance problems. Activate it when using the free look mode. That takes off most of the HUD giving gpu some freedom to rendure this additional view? Why would that little screen be any different than the advanced view?

Someone else also suggested having the camera destructible with a rear shot? Give the screen an error message or static after that.

Make some money. Charge MC for it in the upgrades section of the mechlab. Or c-bills for the poor people!

Try it out in your trial mechs! Advertise the free samples!

Use the same idea for the crotch cam, screen mounted between your feet. I have no jump jets, but there are many sharp drops I look down from and can not see where my arms are hitting.

May not work as well to enable both screens at once, so toggle them separately by looking above or below a horizontal degree.

Any view other than the main one requires the graphics engine to render both scenes (the main one and the smaller screen) in their entirety. The game already performs like crap -- imagine if it had to render the front view AND the rear view at the same time...

If they switched the main view from front to back or front to crotch, etc., that would work. But people would become even more disoriented because they wouldn't be able to see both at the same time.
