OK, here's another idea for a new death cam sequence to compliment the excellent overkill suggestion.

On the killing hit, the screen freezes. There might be a laser blast filling half your view or a frozen missile explosion, or nothing if you're hit from behind and couldn't see the killing hit. The screen is frozen and the killing weapon's sound effect is the last thing you hear, then the screen fads to white in about 2 seconds. This is your pilot dying, suddenly, with the last view and sounds heard.

Creepy? Good? Holy shmoses, Batman? Or lame as grandpa's libido?
