2xAC20
2xGauss
3xUAC5
DD can run any, A can only run two, but with oversized, easy-to-hit-arms. Thus, the JM6s rank thus: S, DD, FB* <huge gap> A
*my favorite by FAR...it's the PPCs.

Interesting. Can the DD actually handle using all six of it's ballistics hardpoints? And are there builds specifically for the FB?

There are people who run MGs in the DD, but I think that's a mediocre use of a JM6. There's no other realistic way to fill all six ballistic hardpoints.
The Firebrand can run the "Rifleman" build with LLs as well as AC/5s or it can run (as mine does) 2 AC/5s and 2 PPCs, all in the arms. The torso mounts on the Jager aren't very high, so they're nowhere near as good as the arm mounts since you have to be much more exposed to use them. Those arm energy hard points are what makes the Firebrand special.

I run 2 LBAC 4MG and it actually works fairly well.
Only JM6 build I cannot stand toe to toe with is the 2xAC20 (surprise there, right?

I also make strong use of my -A as a fire support platform - 2AC5 4LRM5
Haven't had much desire to get the -S

I run my A with twin UACs and quad Streaks. The jamming is a nuisance, but the Streaks shine when that light thinks he's going to make a meal of you.
My S runs quad AC5s, because more dakka.
And my Firebrand runs like a Rifleman. The Rifleman build is actually three only reason I bought a Jager, I just liked it well enough to buy the other three. The FB is still my top performer though.

the dual ac5/ quad lrm5 / 2 ml -A is my go to Jagermech. as for the DD dual ac5/ quad mg/ 2 ml with a std 275. has surprised me in it's effctiveness.

If you already own and have the Catapult family elited, the there is no reason to own an A- get a S or DD.
If you don't, then the A is a must have if you're not planning on buying 3 cats.
I don't own any cats, so I the A is my LRM boat in the stable.
IMHO, most DD builds are equal to or not as strong as S builds. The DD cannot use (within reason) all six hardpoints without MG's... so you basically exchange 2 MLs for 2 MGs. I think 2MG < 2ML in the field.

However, I think any of the three can be made into a capable killing machine.

I like them all. Last night a ran around with the DD (2 AC10-quad MG) for a while but kept getting trail BlackJacks and lights all over me - I switched out to the A with 2 AC5 and Streaks - medium and light killer.
I'm still trying to get two AC10and Streaks on the A - but it's tight. You got to go with a tiny engine or not much ammo - or only two Streaks.

And with that I cast another vote for 2LBX/4MG or 2AC10/4MG DDs
