Where do we find out the summary for cbills made and lost, if this game even has repairs...

It had repairs. But then assault pilots and lights running xbawks hueg XL engines, endo-steel and FF whined about how expensive their repairs were when they did bad. They did bad a lot.

Then people would enter a match without actually repairing (you got a freebie 75% repair and ammo replenishment, but that was dumb - it should be automatically subtracted from your winnings), often with no weapons or even armor so they could just go suicide in a corner or let the enemy kill them, drop the match, then find a new one instantly in another mech. They've some-what fixed that problem, but the whole R&R thing was still inherently broken (mostly because again, you weren't forced to repair, and the fact that an atlas would take a loss in many of their games meant people whined).

I think my favorite part about that system was that you saw way fewer assaults because they were expensive to field. Now it's a one-time purchase, throw in some DHS, maybe even an engine upgrade and you're set for life. Which is dumb.

EDIT: Consumables were a poor attempt at "fixing" that, but they didn't work. I'm pretty sure the base amount of money you get from a loss pays for a single air or artillery strike. Even if not, you don't have to do much to get the money back and then some.

Why? So people couldn't agree to sit there and do nothing. Pretty simple, means do-nothing matches aren't profitable.

Honestly, the best repair mode would have to require CW. Planets only have so much R&R capacity that regenerates over time (and more players on world = faster regen). Get your faction kicked in the teeth enough, hard enough and fights become temporarily unavailable and the planet "captures" faster for the faction still with resources on-planet. Retreating offworld can get you to someplace to recover, but moving takes time (call it 15 minutes) - or you can opt to spend C-bills to get patched up the hard way, if you're willing not to be cheap.

But until then, repairs are meaningless.

You mean the "Player Stats" button on the end screen? At the top-center. It doesn't quite look like a button or tab, but it is. That?

No repairs, btw.

As for Repair & Rearm, it disproportionately punishes new players. It's bad enough a lot of them blow their cadet bonus on a poorly kitted out Awesome, or just as bad, fully kitting out a light that they aren't prepared to play properly, not knowing what they're getting into; but do we need to ****-punch them on top of that?

I'd be cool with R&R coming back strictly as a function of Community Warfare. If a Steiner vs. Kurita battle ends with a Steiner win, 12-10; but Steiner was all assaults and heavies while Kurita had nothing bigger than 60 tons, I'd be cool with the Kurita faction getting more points than the Steiners due to R&R.
